The signing of a key minerals agreement with Ukraine and a scheduled news conference Friday by President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy were abruptly canceled and the Ukrainian leader's visit cut short after an Oval Office meeting that included Vice President JD Vance descended into insults and chaos.
Afterward, the Ukrainians left the Oval Office to head to a "separated room," while the U.S. team stayed in the Oval Office, a White House official said. While the Ukrainians were waiting in the other room, national security adviser Mike Waltz and Secretary of State Marco Rubio told them to leave. The official said Zelenskyy was trying to smooth things over and asked for a reset, but Mr. Trump and other administration officials were offended by Zelenskyy's behavior.
The contentious meeting exposed severe rifts between the U.S. and Ukraine, upending the planned signing of a rare minerals deal between the two countries as Mr. Trump pressures Ukraine to agree to end the war that Russia began. During the course of the meeting, Mr. Trump threatened Zelenskyy to make a deal with Russia or "we're out," and Vance accused the Ukrainian leader of being "disrespectful."
The meeting veered into tense exchanges after Vance said during the course of the meeting that the world has reached this point in part because of the Biden administration's actions, and said it was time for diplomacy.
"What kind of diplomacy, JD, you are speaking about," Zelenskyy asked Vance, suggesting that Russia has broken its promises before in prior agreements.
Vance retorted that it's "disrespectful" for Zelenskyy to try to "litigate" his case in front of the American media.
"You should be thanking the president for trying to bring an end to this conflict," Vance told Zelenskyy.

yep..according to Fox News the Ukraine delegation was pleading for time to speak privately. It was a nope not today, get out moment. Even the planned lunch was left standing in the hallway waiting, the press corp. got to eat it.
The delegation was shown the door by a few Marines.

That’s my fear, in that you could get the deal with Ukraine, only for the Russians to absorb Belarus, and get right up to the Polish border.
Any deal involving Ukraine, must also include Belarus.
You're absolutely wrong. Zelenskyy just greenlit Putin sending the bombers to level Kiev and turn it to complete rubble this very day.
It's all on Zelensky. Every. Single. Bit. He lost his best chance at saving his country today.
Watching Senator after Senator call for the Ukranian people to force elections and remove Zelenskyy is their only hope now and you can bet your ass the Ukranian people know it.
Did you see the Ukranian ambassador with her head in her hands like "OH SHIT, he's blown it!" on tv? She just reflected what every Ukranian citizen is probably feeling right now. They're eff'd with Zany Zelenskyy at the helm.
Personally I’m done with defending Western Europe. They don’t even make any pretense of sharing our values. They spit in our eye every chance they get. They arrest people for memes and praying silently.
We should move our bases from Germany to Poland and let the EU defend itself. NATO is a relic. Russia couldn’t conquer a next door neighbor in 3 years of trying.
If Poland wants our troops on their soil they can make a deal that pays for them.
But screw Brussels.

Trump and Vance should have had Barron there to toss the turd Zelensky out.

I doubt any will note this is a huge turning point with US relations with the EU.
