Harmeet Dhillon, the attorney nominated to lead the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice, said in her confirmation hearing on Wednesday that corporations that use diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) racial quotas could be prosecuted under federal civil rights law.

In an exchange with Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., Dhillon was asked about a 2023 initiative from retail corporation Target to hire 20 percent more black employees, in what Schmitt said was an “overt racial quota system” prohibited by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

“Senator, if the facts are as you just described them, I believe that practice is illegal and unconstitutional,” Dhillon said. As head of the Civil Rights Division, Dhillon would be charged with enforcing federal civil rights law and bringing prosecutions against public and private entities that violate it.

Between 1992 and 2016, I was a publicly identifiable conservative. I had 5 different jobs in that time. I was only ever hired by hiring managers who positively appreciated my conservatism, and was consistently rejected by HR Departments.

Old white straight conservative male.

She should go after IBM first.
CEO is on tape for saying they were going to outsource jobs to India for DEI reasons.

That would be a good target. I remember reading that there was a black female at Microsoft who bragged about not hiring white males. Take a look there too.

On mine the notice for the job openings said the requirement was female only no males, it was a push to get women into the field, I still have the document in storage.

I wish DEI had come along much earlier in my career. I would have done a lot more hunting, camping and fishing and a lot less corporate rat-racing.

I spent 10 years at UPT, a subsidiary of Union Pacific RR, where DEI was in effect before it was even cool. If you weren’t female, forget about getting promoted.
