bottom line Dallas Jenkins doesn’t care about portraying truth.
He admitted he purposely adds much falsehood or distortion (mixing timelines on bible events, fake characters and making Jesus say many things he didn’t, etc) in order to make an addictive series = entertainment.
I see Chosen as any christian movie drama. A bit of bible, lots of man made added.
I said some may open a bible. I know from my own journey to belief and faith in God and the Bible, it’s easy to believe the false parts of things we see or hear (even in christian based school, church etc) for decades before realizing a need to search out truth.
God can use the Chosen, but it’s foolishness to think it’s not misleading in ways.
“So they discover that Ramah was made up but Thomas and the other 11 guys that Jesus Discipled and ended up forming the early CHURCH are in fact historical real people.”
most people don’t like being lied to.
It’s sad so many Christian’s push a mostly false (Dallas said so) drama series on people they are trying to point to truth of God.
Fortunately those who hold your view are in the minority.
In light of the recent announcement that Amazon Prime will be the exclusive streaming platform there are many pro’s and con’s to this plan.
PRO:
The funding received from Amazon will ensure that funding is available for all the future productions of 5 & 2 studios.
CON:
The definition of “free” when discussing distribution efforts will need to be highly scrutinized.
The advertising revenue will be enormous for Amazon and will resonate with Amazon PRIME subscribers.
So many of you reading this already have an Amazon Prime account and
May not even be aware the PRIME VIDEO content is largely “free” with your current subscription
good answer
He does not need us, He chose us
Matthew was not welcome into the group
the scene is an outpouring of mercy and love upon Matthew
Exactly how I took it. The critics hit Dallas HARD on this thinking that the message was God needs our HELP ! Quite the contrary we are invited to MAKE DISCIPLES—. Not of ourselves. But to point others to the same SAVIOR!
He CHOSE all mankind to provide Salvation for ALL and WHOEVER will. Knowing full well that many…. Correction MOST of mankind will reject the free gift offer of Salvation—. Few there be .. in comparison that CHOOSE to follow HIM
Holding at #4 trending on YouTube. Looking at 1-3 I suspect that many of those views are actually BOTS. But let’s see if it can hit #1 before the theatrical release
“ it’s about 90+% non biblical.”
The Chosen will never contradict the Bible. Saying it’s non Biblical gives the idea it contradicts the Bible which it doesn’t
Closed Captioning is you’re friend.. I use it on all movies and any TV series I watch.
I too have some hearing loss. Even with hearing aids it’s difficult to listen when I go to meetings or watch tv. On the tv, I have the closed captioning on all the time. Some programs don’t have it, so I can’t watch those. I’m investigating using my smartphone as a dictation device at meetings so I can understand what’s going on around me. Meetings are the worst- I’m lucky if I can make out out 10% of what everybody’s saying.
I forgot- one of my daughters bought me Bluetooth headphones so I CAN listen to everything on tv. They work wonderfully, but are rather pricey, at least for the Apple “Beat” headphones. Check them out.🙂👍
Closing in on 2 million views and still trending #20 on YouTube
This is a good time to ask if you have already secured group tickets for your Church, civic group or family ?

We just got back from seeing it.
It was very good!
I like going to Christian movies in theaters for the sending a message aspect to Hollywood. And the scenes that this episode show are well worth seeing on a big screen.
I’m starting to get age related hearing loss at certain frequencies and with the accents, sometimes understanding the characters can be tough.
My d-i-l is deaf and while she has an implant, it only works so well. So she uses something that works pretty well as long as multiple people are not talking at once, like people tend to do or when they try to talk over each other.
So I talked to my son and he said that most phones these days (sold within the last 2-4 years) have a feature on them that transcribes conversations. In Android phones it’s call *Live Transcribe* and is under the Accessibility settings. He’s not sure what Apple has but suspects that it also likely has something.
Hope this helps.
