The remarkable life story of Coast to Coast AM creator Art Bell may soon be coming to the silver screen by way of a biopic starring Oscar nominee Paul Giamatti. The percolating film project, set to be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of the acclaimed creative collective Radio Silence, has reportedly already drawn interest from Amazon and Warner Bros. Credited with spearheading the movie are producers Sophie Cassidy and Jeff Katz, who is a longtime fan of the late paranormal radio legend.

I guess they have to go to the folks ar Area 51 about biring a couple of grays to do cameo roles
That was a Kink’s song, “Rush all day and Art all the night”
Big fan of Art Bell.
Art and Rush were also both drawn to and devoted to radio from early in life, working for years in the Top 40 music format, but then becoming pioneers of modern talk radio. They were skilled professionals who prepared diligently for every show, with a genuine liking and respect for their audience.
In a deeper sense, Art and Rush also helped to revive populist American politics and conservatism by challenging listeners to think for themselves. Sadly, both were taken from us too soon.
The movie must include in no particular order:
Malachi Martin
Michael Heiser
Mel’s hole
How about the guy who called in while flying his Cessna into Area 51 and then he said a hanger door was opening up and a bright light was being aimed at him and then all you heard was static.
“How about the guy who called in while flying his Cessna into Area 51 and then he said a hanger door was opening up and a bright light was being aimed at him and then all you heard was static.”
Damn, I missed that!
“Please, please include Cydonia in the show. Listening to Art Bell’s quest ‘experts’ talking, with absolute certitude, about the Martian Cydonia Pyramid Complex is as riveting as it is crazy.”
Read Dr. Mark Carlotto’s “The Cydonia Controversy” which is compelling, scientific (Carlotto is an image processing specialist) and not crazy.
Mel’s Hole was always good.
I’m in Seattle - so it made it more interesting. The one I really liked was the guy that was up with his dog hiking in the Cascades and ended up killing an alien. Brought it back to his home in Everett (IIRC) and kept it in his big freezer in the garage.
Turns out it wasn’t dead.
And then one day the black SUV’s showed up.
In my mind I thought that was an on-going story where the guy would check in with Art every so often. But I looked it up a few months ago and it seemed like it was all just in one show. Or maybe for the internet it was all shoved into one show?
Some of the people Art had on, and Art himself, could really tell a good story. Half of me doubted it, and the other half thought, well....?
The alien in the Cascades though didn’t ring true from the get-go though. He said he liked to hike and his dog would chase the squirrels and rabbits. I’ve spent a lot of time in those woods - not many squirrels, and I’ve never seen a rabbit!
Another great story was the one with the boy in his room and the corner of his room was traveling through a worm-hole or something (so it had another dimension to it). IIRC the boy got sucked into it, and the father (or perhaps a friend that knew about wormholes!) pulled him out just as the worm-hole was about to close.
Please, please, please - Mel Waters has to make an appearance!
The guy who brought the alien home can be found on YouTube with video of the alien at the time.

Wow - that radio show was from 1998 - 27 years ago! That’s hard to believe - I’m getting old! I do recall seeing those images now. And it does look like it was just one episode. I guess the way they told it was so good that I recalled it as a serial story.
from when I was a little child I loved radio. I know what diodes and galena crystals are, and wrapped magnet wire around toilet paper tubes.
I loved OTR and pity the fools who think listening to their kindle narrate a book is great.
Art is in my top 5 and I still listen to random episodes at night cause it is safer than sleeping drugs (hopefully)
Rip Art
Was Art Bell finally taken away by a space ship or something?
That would make a great end to a movie.
I’d give a lot to have one last late night dozing off to the sound of Mr. Bell’s cigarette velvet voice.
“High above the desert!”
I was listening that night driving home from working a swing shift. One of his best shows. He kept telling the pilot to get out of there. It was great. I was an avid listener to both Art Bell and Rush. They’d have a ball with the current events now. Gone too soon. Godspeed guys thanks for the memories.
Wasn’t it Art that talked about remote viewing on his show?

Above is the full show from what seems to be the best interview regarding remote viewing. I recall Ed Dames on the show numerous times. Turns out he was wrong about a lot of things that he saw in the future.
Thanks.
