CBS is considering settling a $10 billion lawsuit brought by Trump over its deceptively edited ’60 Minutes’ interview with Kamala Harris.
CBS executives are reportedly worried ongoing litigation with President Trump will interfere with a merger with Skydance.
“Paramount, owner of CBS, its namesake studio and several cable channels, has a major piece of business in front of the new administration: its planned merger with Skydance Media,” The Wall Street Journal reported. “It’s become clear to executives at both companies that Trump’s dissatisfaction with CBS News will make the review tougher than they anticipated, and that they’ll likely need to offer concessions to win approval, people familiar with the situation said.”
In October President Trump sued CBS News for $10 billion for deceptively editing its ’60 Minutes’ interview with Kamala Harris.

They shouldn’t (only) be sued, they should face criminal charges for undeclared, illegal campaign contributions.
CBS will probably offer about $5 million for settlement.

So probably around the time that geriatric leftist hack Lesley Stahl joined the show in 1991. CBS continues to wheel out her brittle 83 year old Trump hating bones each Sunday to this day.
These "media" outlets are afraid of exposing how their pricing actually works. If that cat gets out of the bag, it's all over. They'll settle before letting that happen.
“Weird Al” Yankovic mentioned 60 Minutes in his song “Couch Potato”, a parody of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”. In the song Al sings “like 60 Minutes ancient reporters”.

This case is different than the ABC case.
Trump did not want to be tied up with depositions and neither did ABC want Georgie EVER put under oath.
So there was a settlement.
This case is different.
CBS should have bitten the bullet early on and just released the unedited interview.
But I guess they thought the chances of Harris winning were good enough that they would not have to.
But eventually the interview will come out in discovery and they will have to defend the edits which they can’t.
CBS is in a box.
To fight it tooth and nail and lose or attempt to settle.
Somebody is paid the big bucks which way to lose is the better choice.

Wasn't it fun though watching 60 Minutes ambush and destroy an unlucky American, back when we were pre-civilized child-savages growing up? That was brutal fun! Then we matured and got civilized. But 25% of children have insufficient prefrontal neocortex mass, and never mentally develop past that. They are called Demonrats.

Don Hewitt and his wife Frankie Hewitt were big Democrats, though, and she had started out as a campaigner for JFK. They were on the “good parties” list in DC. She became director of the Ford’s Theatre Foundation and made that historic theater a place to show American-themed shows and clean content. She had a great gig for a number of years with a televised gala called “Festival at Ford’s” to welcome every incoming president, R or D. I remember the one for Carter and then the one for Reagan, with a couple of dozen major stars entertaining, and after the televised show, the entertainers, the Cabinet, top officials, major donors and lobbyists got to hobnob at the dinner afterwards. She was an ace fundraiser.
