Indonesian National Heroine Kartini's Observations Of Global Warming In 1903

Javanese Princess, Raden Ajeng Kartini, is revered in Indonesia, the fourth biggest nation on earth by population, for advancing nationalism and women's rights by upholding family values.

Her observations of the weather during a severe drought in 1903 make interesting reading:

"For three longs weeks not a drop of rain has fallen. It is boiling hot as it has never been before, even in the dryest Oostmoesson.

Father is in despair; the young rice in the fields is turning brown, Oh, our poor people! So far they have had enough to eat here and they do not know the most frightful of all calamities which a land can suffer—Famine.

........ this great drought in the time of the wet season presages anything but good. What will happen if it keeps up? For several mornings the wind has blown as it usually does first in May. Has the turning point been reached, has the dry season begun?

It is frightful, every one looks on helpless."

Devastating climate change has been a part of God's creation for a long time.

Nothing worse than a dry Oostmoesson.

You’d have more luck trying to stop the world from turning than stopping climate change. It’s natural. Yet when you mention this basic fact to a Leftist, they go crazy.

In 1942, MGM released a Traveltalks short film on Glacier and Waterton National Parks.
It stated that the glaciers have been melting since the end of the Ice Age 12 thousand years ago, “and if there is NO CLIMATIC CHANGE, they will be gone in a thousand years.”

So no matter how puny man tries to stop the melting it will continue naturally till natural forces throw us back into another Ice Age which was supposed to happen in the 1970s.

Will California get a government that tells its people they have been lied to for years, that their entire “green” agenda, with all its subsidies and mandates, has had zero material impact on the level of atmospheric CO2, was a waste of time, and may have been unnecessary to begin with??

On that last part, a number of recent studies, from different places in the world, have reported that rising atmospheric CO2 levels behave like adding more insulation in your home. There is a peak that is reached and then every additional inch of insulation does not have a great affect. Their reports say that something similar is true for atmospheric CO2. It’s heat trapping reaches a peak after which additional parts per million have a decreased additional warming affect, if any at all. They further say we may have already reached that peak.

It was just not that much reported then.
People just took it as an act of God and adjusted.
We should do the same.

Yes, the climate IS changing.

It has always been changing, and it always will be changing.

There is a theory that we are still in an ice age, but there is a temporary lull caused by the Gulf Stream, which is carrying warmer water into the north polar region from the equatorial Atlantic. When this stalls (which it could do anytime, they say), the glaciers will start building up again and the ice age will resume. This theory is kind of old now so I don’t know if it still holds up.

Indonesia had major Dutch settlements.
