Russian vodka enthusiasts are seething after the Finance Ministry implemented a 17 percent price hike for a half-litre bottle on New Year's Day.

Russia holds the title as the world's largest vodka producer, accounting for over 30 percent of global production.

Domestic consumption makes up more than 90 percent of Russia-made vodka, making it one of the country's most beloved beverages.

As of January 1st, a bottle will now set consumers back 349 rubles (£2.53), up from 299 (£2.16) - a jump of 50 rubles.

This follows a 6.4 percent increase in June 2024, meaning that within the last six months, vodka prices have skyrocketed by an eye-watering 23.4 percent.

Screw Greenland.

Get the private equity firms to back a leveraged buyout of Russia.

We can give Putin a golden parachute and exile him to Jupiter.

Same with the rest of his filthy Godless retinue.

Make Vodka Great Again.

Tell Putin to apologize to his people for raising the price of getting drunk in Russia.

So. It’s not bad enough that Putin is an evil murderous Stalinist war criminal, he’s gone and raised the price of vodka?

Gee. You Zeepers may be right. Putie is a bad hombre.

“Russian vodka enthusiasts are seething after the Finance Ministry implemented a 17 percent price hike for a half-litre bottle on New Year’s Day”

Imagine the outrage had the Ministry also hiked the price of one-litre bottles.
