Star Trek: Deleted Scene - Who Mourns For Adonais? - Lt. Carolyn Palomas Is Pregnant With Apollo's Child. In this deleted scene from Star Trek (The Original Series - TOS), from the episode, "Who Mourns For Adonais?", on the Enterprise bridge, this scene was voiced by the Script Director, with Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy) giving facial expressions, as responses. Dr. McCoy says that Lt. Carolyn Palomas is pregnant, with Apollo's child. Captain Kirk responds with, "What?" McCoy continues that he has a question for Spock's computer: Will the child be man or god? This is reminiscent of Genesis, Chapter 6 & 1 Enoch 6 - Fallen angels mixing seed with mankind. This will definitely be a hot topic deleted scene in the comments section. I am looking forward to reading. (All of these Star Trek scenes are from The Roddenberry Vault Blu-Ray Set). Enjoy.

This scene was most likely cut due to the censors at the time. It was in the original James Blish novel according to the YouTube comments section below the linked video.

Single motherhood, at this time, would have been beyond American society at the time for sure.

that would never have made it to the screen in those days. What a freaking follow up storyline if they did such thing back in the day.

Wow she was going to have a giant baby.

I think a modern Star Trek show should incorporate this in to a story line. The Son of Appollo.

This episode also contains the best (and currently censored in all broadcasts) line in all of TOS:
Apollo: "You will kneel before all of the gods." (not verbatim)
Kirk: "We find the One sufficient." :)

Though it’s one of my favorite episodes it desperately needed a classicist as a scrip consultant.

That would have been a great storyline. But Apollo was really nothing without his machines.

Except for the episode whose title I forget where the Enterprise goes to a culture like ancient Rome, and in the final scene, they are discussing some members of the culture as sun worshippers. Spock says how their behavior was atypical of sun worshippers, and Lt. Uhura pipes up and says they were talking about the Son of God.

...the Enterprise goes to a culture like ancient Rome, and in the final scene, they are discussing some members of the culture as sun worshippers...The Episode was 'Bread and Circuses' from the second season. They goofed up. Dr. McCoy says ancient Romans were not sun worshipers. Several Roman religions included solar deities, including Apollo, Mithra, and Sol Invictus.

That scene is my favorite with her.
Her character says it with absolute knowledge of who HE is.... Awesome few seconds.
