THE LEAST SUCCESSFUL CONSPIRACY
Powerline ^ | 22 Dec 2024 | John Hinderaker

My law firm was one of those that defended tobacco companies against, among other things, lawsuits brought by state attorneys general. A key claim in those cases was that the tobacco companies conspired to prevent the public from learning that smoking is bad for you. “If so,” said the partner in my firm who was in charge of the case for our client, “it was the least successful conspiracy in the history of the world.”

I recall that comment in the context of recent “revelations” about the conspiracy on the part of the White House, the Democratic Party and the press to conceal the fact that Joe Biden is senile. This Wall Street Journal article, for example, has been described as a “blockbuster” story. In my opinion, it contained little that was new and nothing that was surprising.

I don’t doubt that various people, including the press, conspired, but the fact that Joe Biden was senile was open and obvious. It was obvious even before he became president. He ran a basement campaign in 2020, while Donald Trump, who is nearly as old as Biden, toured the country putting on one massive rally after another. I assume everyone understood the reason for that contrast: Biden wasn’t up to running anything like a normal presidential campaign.

What is striking to me is not the conspiracy to cover up his condition, which was hardly more successful than the alleged conspiracy to cover up the fact that smoking is bad for you.

What is striking is how few people on the Left–approximately zero–cared about the fact that we didn’t have a functioning president. Why were Democrats so unconcerned about having a president who was basically a cardboard cutout? Because they don’t really think the president is very important. They were content to have the Executive Branch run by nameless White House aides and by party grandees like Barack Obama. They thought, understandably, that the real power in government lies in the administrative agencies, and that those agencies would carry on perfectly well without a sentient being in the White House

The Democratic Party is a communist party that is run by an ad-hoc politburo which functions more effectively with a figurehead president.

Excellent summary.

Explains much regarding high level candidates like Joe or Kamala. They aren’t really that important as long as they are easily controlled by behind the scenes powers.

Much the same is true right down the ladder to your city council members.

There are powers that are only given to the President himself, not to the executive branch. All of the “war on terror” stuff has to be authorized by the President, for instance. Pardons. Etc. Whoever in the executive branch did those things FOR Joe Biden was totally out of line, usurping the powers of the President alone.

And by doing this, the Deep State (administrative agencies) stole from Americans the right to have a Constitutional President when they stole the election, as we know they did. 81 million legit American voters did not vote for this vegetable. There is a reason that Dominion deliberately - unlawfully - removed all the data that would allow audits of the 2020 election. And why Tina Peters was targeted for catching them red-handed.

And all the while they say Trump is so dangerous to “democracy”.

Spit.

In my opinion, it contained little that was new and nothing that was surprising.

What is new and surprising is an MSM outlet admitting to something that the rest of us knew all along. Meaning, they thought it was perfectly OK to report and reinforce a complete lie to the credulous public as long as their editors found political value in doing so.

The exercise of political power, nominally held by a mentally checked out politician, by unelected “staff” is a real and quite visible problem. We now have several substantial examples. This may need a constitutional fix.

“behind the scenes powers”

A full disclosure of who they are and what they’ve done will lead to justice.

The article misses the whole point of having a puppet POTUS - the point is not to convince anyone Biden is running things - it’s to hide who really is.

For example, a bank robber does not wear a Nixon mask to convince people he’s Nixon - it’s to hide his identity.

Of course the Democrats didn’t care if Biden was competent or if anyone else thought he was - who cares if a puppet is competent?
