NEW: Special helicopters landed on the outskirts of western Hama to evacuate Assad militia officers fleeing the city, fearing capture by Syrian opposition forces.
The helicopters departed to an unknown location, leaving the remaining troops to their fate.

Question: Has ANY NATO leadership ever done anything like this.
Troop Leaders evacuating and leaving their troops behind???

Hezbollah terrorists are brought to burial. Endless line of coffins.
They started a war. They are paying the price!

Iraqi PM Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has mobilized three army brigades and two PMF brigades to the Syrian border, stressing Iraq won’t remain a “spectator” amid escalating regional conflicts.

According to the CIA World fact book, the population in Gaza has increased by 2.02% since Oct 7, 2023. Facts vs opinion! There is no genocide in Gaza. No intent or actions by Israel to conduct a genocide. Actually the opposite, Israel has done more to protect civilians and care for civilians in Gaza while Hamas does everything to get civilians killed and to keep the aid Israel floods in from them. Amnesty International and others only weaken the rule of law and make it harder for the laws (redefining it) and courts to hold actual violators to account.

Douglas Macarthur?
🤔
Can you be a bit more specific?
I am not talking about Politicals being evacuated and leaving armed troops behind
I don’t know the reference or the comparison to front line troops leaders being evacuated from a war front to leave their troops behind.
George Washington would have never done that — for example.

MacArthur, the son of Medal of Honor recipient Arthur MacArthur Jr., was raised on Army posts in the Old West. He was valedictorian of the West Texas Military Academy and First Captain at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he graduated first in his class in 1903. During the 1914 U.S. occupation of Veracruz, he conducted a reconnaissance mission for which he was nominated for the Medal of Honor. In 1917, he was promoted from major to colonel and became chief of staff of the 42nd (Rainbow) Division. On the Western Front during World War I, he rose to the rank of brigadier general, was again nominated for a Medal of Honor, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross twice and the Silver Star seven times. From 1919 to 1922, MacArthur served as Superintendent of the U.S. Military Academy, where he initiated a series of reforms. His next posting was in the Philippines, where in 1924 he was instrumental in quelling the Philippine Scout Mutiny. In 1925, MacArthur became the Army’s youngest major general at the age of 45, and in 1930 was appointed Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army. He was involved in the controversial expulsion of the Bonus Army protesters from Washington, D.C., in 1932, and took charge of the Civilian Conservation Corps. In 1935, MacArthur became the Military Advisor to the Commonwealth of the Philippines. He retired from the Army in 1937, but continued as advisor and was Field Marshal of the Philippine Army from 1936.
MacArthur was recalled to active duty in July 1941 as commander of U.S. Army Forces in the Far East. A large portion of his air forces were destroyed on 8 December 1941 in the Japanese attack on Clark Field, and an invasion of the Philippines followed. MacArthur’s forces withdrew to Bataan, where they held out until May 1942. In March 1942, MacArthur left nearby Corregidor Island and escaped to Australia, where he became Supreme Commander of the Southwest Pacific Area in April. He famously promised that he would return to the Philippines, and for his defense of the islands was awarded the Medal of Honor in 1942. From Australia, he commanded the New Guinea campaign, and in October 1944 returned to the Philippines and led the campaign which liberated the islands. In December 1944, he was promoted to General of the Army.
At the end of the war, MacArthur accepted the surrender of Japan on 2 September 1945. As the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers and effective ruler of Japan, he oversaw the war crimes tribunals and the demilitarization and democratization of the country under its new constitution, introducing women’s rights, labor unions, land reform, and civil liberties. In 1948, MacArthur made a brief bid for the Republican Party’s nomination in that year’s presidential election. During the Korean War, he led the United Nations Command with initial success, but suffered a series of major defeats after China’s entry into the war in October 1950. MacArthur was contentiously removed from his command in Korea by President Harry S. Truman in April 1951. He later became chairman of the board of Remington Rand, and died in Washington, D.C., in 1964.
It has not been long ago since I removed Telegram from my desktop computer. But for this, I might just re install it.
There is a very long history of autocratic or dictatorial Arab regimes abandoning their troops in the middle of a losing battle.
In the 1967 war Israeli troops stormed the Golan Heights from Syria only to discover that many of the enlisted men were chained to the bunker while the officers fled back to their home lines.
The Soviets and many other terrible countries don’t give a flying you know what about their troops. The Russians did this in WWI and do the same today in the Ukraine.
Only CIVILIZED countries like the US or in this case Israel do their utmost to retrieve and save the wounded and retrieve bodies of the fallen. Even now, what is happening in Gaza is an excellent example of a moral army (the IDF) hoping to get back their hostages alive or dead.
No surprises here.
Napoleon abandoned his troops in Egypt, iirc.
Roosevelt ordered MacArthur to evacuate. It’s unlikely he would have done so on his own initiative.
From what I have read it seems this is common in Ukraine.
The window of opportunity for USA’s enemies to attack I’d rapidly closing.
The new congress takes over in the beginning of January, Trump on January 20th.
Logically, I would expect USA to be attacked by the end of this month. Both from the outside and inside through terrorism.
That would be in the next 16 days.
I hope and pray I am wrong, but there are many warning signs that WWIII is about to explode.
If true, Hama will fall today.
The role of Arab officers is to hold the pistol to the backs of their troops so they point their guns the correct direction.
To his shame, he accepted those orders and was evacuated by a pair of PT Boats and then by B-17 to Australia.
He evacuated his wife and son - understandably, I guess, except civilians were interred by the Japanese at San Tomas University in Manila (My cousins were prisoners there for 3 1/2 years) - and he was accompanied by his cook, his son's Chinese Amah and his aide and 13 members of his staff, while many American nurses were left to the "mercies" of the Japanese.
It is true that Macarthur led the army through New Guinea and eventually back through the Philippines - but the men he left resented him leaving them - he was called "Dugout Doug" from then on by those who survived.
Meanwhile……..
The Israeli Defense Establishment is preparing for the Imminent Fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s Regime, as Rebel Forces led by Hayʼat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) are continuing to make Significant Territorial Gains in the North of the Country; with Israel having issued a Warning to Iran, against them sending Troops to Syria.

I don’t think what is going on here is worthy to be compared to any actions taken by the United States since WW-II. Agreed ?
Are we IN WW-III ?
Gosh - you are desperate, aren’t you? You asked if any American commander deserted his men and I provided an example. It doesn’t matter when it happened.
I don’t think history agrees with you and I was not there.
Have I missed something?
I don’t think comparing the events, conditions, and realtime reporting of events and circumstances are worthy to be compared to events that did not occur in the era of live streaming worldwide
