“So Amazon started their Black Friday deals early, and let me tell you, beware of this,” she says in the video. “I had 25 things sitting in my cart for the last two weeks, like things to prepare for the baby and I know the exact price of every single one of those items and what my cart total was two weeks ago.”
Jess says she was expecting her cart total to drop significantly. “Everything was going to be on sale, and then I would put in my order,” she explains. “I logged in yesterday, all excited to see this low number, and you would not believe that the total was actually higher—higher than it was before the Black Friday sales.”

so now, i'll never again buy anything from amazon on or near Black Friday; the same exact thing happens on Prime Day too, so avoid buying then unless you know your prices!
i guess it depends on what you are buying. i got a few
things marked down. new markdowns appear daily - and i am sure some sellers raise price before cutting it. so always good to do your homework.
I noticed the same.
They’re probably all doing this. Well, most of them, anyway.
I would remove the items...or save them for later then go in again and add them to my cart from the general listing. At times this works for me to get an adjusted price.
Black Friday is ridiculous.
100%...We noted the same exact thing....Greedy SOBs
i’ve also noticed a re-alignment of prices after price-shopping between amazon and places like home depot ... i suspect that they’re reading each other’s cookies to do that ...
“Black Friday is ridiculous.”
Black Friday MONTH is ridiculous!!
I enjoy watching the Black Friday Walmart videos of people rushing in the stores to get to a stack of some item that’s on sale and fighting over who gets what.
They must think we’re stupid, anyway this is another example where social media shines and becomes a real service to mankind.
I check Amazon everyday and track prices, and this is true, even on my wish list the prices are the same or higher and yet suddenly declared as 34% or 49% off as “Black Friday” deals.
The browser extension “The Camelizer” gives pricing history for items at Amazon and is helpful.
Amazon under Andy Jassy is not the same as it was under Jeff Bezos. Jassy only cares about Amazon’s share price (= profits). Bezos was obsessed with customer satisfaction.
I've seen this myself also. What Amazon does is post the original list price that no one ever paid. So when they mark it down 50%, it creates the illusion you are getting a great deal.
You're not.
Black Friday is ridiculous.

They’ve gone from Black Friday to Black Friday Week. Pretty soon Black Friday will be all of November.
Save your money. Americans don’t save enough.
Amazon’s Black Friday Deals Are a Con.
We noticed this. We checked several dozen Amazon prices and none are bargains. Not one
I use Mozilla’s Firefox browser with an add-on called Keepa. It keeps historical prices on Amazon. You can often spot a trend of price adjustments.
I shop Amazon for selection and then order directly from the manufacturer’s website.
No cash for you, DEEP STATE BEZOS.
Amazon is always my last choice. Ebay and Walmart are my favorites. I just bought a six pack of smoke detectors on ebay for 36 dollars. They are 39 dollars EACH on Amazon for the same model.
