The Democrats failed to do one very important thing this campaign season. They did not place political analyst Bob Shrum in a lead-lined container to keep him from communicating with the outside world. Why? Because of the documented "Shrum Curse" (you can look it up online) in which all predictions and hopes expressed by Shrum turn out to be the opposite. On Election Night 2004 he congratulated candidate John Kerry by personally telling him, "May I be the first to say 'Mr. President?'" On September 2, 2016, Shrum declared Hillary Clinton the winner because the election was essentially all over. And every campaign that Shrum worked on turned out to be a losing campaign.
Most recently we have Shrum praising Kamala Harris as a "change candidate" with praises about how great her campaign is. Uh-oh! If you have ever watched the movie "A Bronx Tail" you saw the Bronx version of Bob Shrum in the form of Eddie Mush (a real person portrayed by the real Eddie Mush) whose luck in gambling was as cursed as the "Shrum Curse" is in politics.
PING!
Did he stay silent for Obama-Biden?
People are overthinking this. Election day voting is a zoo. Republicans are the party of self-reliance. They are conscientious, show up on time, stay for as long as it takes. They’ll show on election day.
Democrats are the party of gibsmedat. A big chunk is lazy, doesn’t care about anything except for what benefits it personally. Many are in basically no show government or NGO jobs. Why should election day be different?
Zuckerbucks ($400m) and federal funding ($400m) to get voters to the polls raised voter participation rates to 100-year highs. Democrat strongholds got probably 90% of that cash. That’s not happening again.
Just on the strength of the missing Democrat voter outreach cash this cycle, Harris is screwed. Minus an act of G-d, Trump is in, with majorities in both houses.
The ‘shrooms didn’t help her, either.
Sheesh
Seriously, when I saw the title, that is what I thought. Her followers are stoned right now and will be waking up after the polls have closed.
I remember Bob Shrum. He had fallen off the radar...
Bkmk
Has he ever predicted a Republican would win, and he was wrong? It seems like he just predicts the Democrat will win. Every single time.
Here is a post on FR that says Romney will lose:
Bob Shrum: R.I.P., Mitt Romney
It sounds like his predictions are worthless, he always says Democrats are going to win.
This is what the Shrum Curse was supposed to be:
Bump for great justice
