In yet another blatant display of political persecution, former Mesa County, Colorado Clerk Tina Peters, 68—a gold star mother—was sentenced to 9 years in prison in early October.
In August, Peters was found guilty on seven of ten charges for preserving critical election data.
After bravely raising questions about election irregularities, Peters was relentlessly pursued by local and federal authorities, culminating in charges that were politically motivated from the outset.
Peters’ crime? Exposing the truth about what happened in the 2020 election.
As a last act before entering prison as the result of a political prosecution, Peters publicly released the Mesa County Colorado Voting System Forensic Examination and Analysis reports.
Tina asked her supporters to view her investigative reports on election integrity in Mesa County, Colorado. The reports 1-3 are found at tinapeters.us.
Tina Peters, a widow, and Gold Star Mother has never violated any laws. She is 69 years old and will be 78 when the state releases her from prison.
Tina shared a photo in her prison orange to X.
...
The two-tiered nature of the politically motivated Biden-Harris DOJ can be seen in the stark difference between how Tina Peters has been treated in contrast to how the serious breach of election security by Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold’s office has been addressed.
Griswold’s office left voting system passwords publicly accessible on the state’s website for several months.
Despite discovering the exposure on October 24, Griswold’s team only began to change the leaked passwords after the Colorado GOP brought the issue to light.
Thrown in jail for nine years for that is cool with you?
Somebody will figure it out.
‘Thrown in jail for nine years for that is cool with you?’
Probably not, but her insistence that she was perfectly within her right to break the law and lie certainly didn’t help with the sentencing.
She’s not a political prisoner.
Pardon her!
cui bono? Not her . It was was a political crime, if it was a crime, she is a political prisoner. Challenge a regime bent on authoritarianism, you get this kind of overreach. Throw tea in the harbor, we’ll close your port. Keep a squirrel in your house, we’ll toss it and euthanize the pet.
Given the recent revelation of SoS Griswold letting BIOS passwords sit on an unencrypted spreadsheet open to the Internet makes Tina Peters’ sentencing more egregious in hindsight.
I guess it’s more comfortable pretend Peters did something wrong than to face what this country has become.
Ah bs.
Either we follow the law, or we don’t and face the consequences.
Allowing an unauthorized partisan into a secured area where ballots are tabulated is a crime, even if they’re on the side you support.
People would be claiming treason had she been a Biden supporter.
Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.
“Tina Peters In Jump Suit RELEASED”....said the headline.
I got tunnel vision, before I realized I took the word
‘released’ out of context. My error.
Guys... the President cannot pardon her. She was locked up for a trumped up state “crime”.
But what he can do is appoint some aggressive soul like ramaswami as a a special counsel or even AG and have them go after the Colorado criminals who clearly violated her civil rights.
now wait a minute ,the crime that was in the making was this same Jena Griswold, of the “partial”passwords leak, planning to delete the computer files prior to the 22 month statutory requirement.

“But she claims she was acting in accordance with a federal mandate that requires county clerks to preserve election records. She claims that an election system software installation called a “trusted build” that is done in accordance with the Colorado Secretary of State’s office was going to change and delete some records from the county system, so she had to step in and take action to prevent that.” ( BTW , this is not a source friendly to Peters)
She allowed an unauthorized person access to voting machines and lied about who they were.
I’m sure she thought her motives were pure, but cmon. Not acceptable no matter who it is.
So the person TP was trying to thwart was this same Jena Griswold who has declared out of thin air that Trump is an insurrectionist and on that basis kicked Trump off the Colorado ballot in that phase of the Lawfare. Of course , on procedural grounds , the USSC disallowed that maneuver at the time, but Jamie Raskin has announced that he fully intends to use the finding of the Colorado Supreme Court to deny certification of a Trump victory, should that arise , in the House. You’ve got wild dogs running free all over the landscape, and you’re standing with prosecuting a woman for walking her cat in her back yard while not on a leash. It is iron fisted political intimidation if you don’t recognize it.
Trump can persuade the Governor to pardon her.
He was a combat veteran serving as a US Navy SEAL and died in 2017 at age 27 in a parachute accident
Not a single thing you have said makes her not guilty of breaking the law by allowing an unauthorized person access to voting machines and lying about who they were.
Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes.
I’m pissed she pled guilty to. They made the democrats job so easy. No trial. Nothing. Just plead guilty.
Nope. She’s doing the full nine she requested guaranteed. Trump will not pardon her.
