Ukrainian President Zelensky Openly Campaigns for Dems in Battleground State, Harris Surrogate PA Governor Josh Shapiro Joins Him to Sign Bombs

While Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky is in the United States begging for more U.S. taxpayer dollars and munitions, he appears to be using some of his time to stump for the Harris campaign and attack Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance on American soil.

Zelensky also joined Harris surrogate Democrat Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro for a tour of an ammunition factory in the Keystone State.

Zelensky had time for a sitdown interview with The New Yorker and directly went after Trump and Vance.

“My feeling is that Trump doesn’t really know how to stop the war even if he might think he knows how,” Zelensky said in the interview.

“With this war, oftentimes, the deeper you look at it the less you understand. I’ve seen many leaders who were convinced they knew how to end it tomorrow, and as they waded deeper into it, they realized it’s not that simple.”

Zelensky also belittled Vance calling him “way too radical.”

“I don’t take Vance’s words seriously, because, if this were a plan, then America is headed for global conflict. It will involve Israel, Lebanon, Iran, Taiwan, China, as well as many African countries,” Zelensky said.

Maybe I missed something, but I haven’t seen Zelensky actively supporting the Harris campaign in anyway.

Trump is the one guy on the planet who has been the most anti-Russia and pro-Ukraine of them all. So why would Zelensky criticize Trump?

Trump is the one who actually saved Ukraine. He sent shiploads of high-tech US weaponry to Ukraine right before the war started, and that made the Russians flee from massive Ukrainian land areas they had for a short while stolen - including Kiev was saved.

Remember, Obama only sent pillows and blankets to Ukraine. Trump reversed that crazy Obama policy!

Only Trump has the will to defeat Russian aggression in Ukraine.
Biden doesn’t want Ukraine to win.

And when it comes to Vance... the previously most extreme never-Trumper known to man... I don’t think he can be trusted. I have a list of all the horribly things he said to Trump. I’m not forgetting that. Men never change, or they can... for their careers maybe... but where is the honesty in that?

I fully trust TRUMP, because he has proven deeds, and he has never flip-flopped.

Not your light to be sure
As I said, Ukraine is important and Russia’s invasion is a crime against humanity.

However, Z should not be here interfering in our election, and I can’t ignore a pro Ukraine but trying to kill Trump.

I pray for Trump’s safety and election, and after that I’ve always said how he deals with Ukraine is up to him.

My guess is Z cannot remain in office if Trump is elected.

Zelensky had always been arrogant, but his real mistake is believing Ukraine is going to militarily prevail in all respects over Russia. He is not showing a sense of reality.

They made arguments like they were straight out of the DNC. nonsense like, they were still being attacked under Trump (though they admitted it was at a lower level).

Just for debating those people with a few comments on a thread of 600 comments, I was banned from commenting within a couple of hours.

They are deep into the kool aid that Trump is their enemy and the democrats are their defenders.

Definitely a reasonable approach.

Most of us here are not against the Ukrainian people at all. We support them.

We are against the crooks who run Ukraine (and the ones who run Russia as well) and we oppose our tax dollars going to that bunch with no real accountability.

I do believe Trump will stanch that hemorrhaging of our dollars and work to achieve a peaceful resolution. It’s time for the death and destruction to stop and let Ukraine rebuild and get back to some sort of normality.

Amen. I supported aid to Ukraine during Biden because that was (in my view) the only available approach.

However, I never had faith in Biden, and now I do not trust or support Zelensky.

The election is soon. Without Trump our own country is lost. Ukraine will also be worse off.

So all that matters is the election of Trump. I do not believe the current Ukraine government will remain if Trump is elected.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Evidently if Zelensky did something seen as meddling in the US campaign that would be a stupid mistake. Putin made the same error when he recently in different occasions supported Harris against Trump.

When it comes to the anti-israel and jew-hater Mr. Routh who tried to assassinate Trump... while he apparently supports Ukraine... that doesn’t make pro-freedom Ukraine people suddenly become potential Trump-assasins... thank God!

Likewise, what about this...: Routh actually voted for Trump in 2016... does that mean that all Trump-voters suddenly are potential Trump-assasins in 2024?
Of course not.

Routh is a nutcase and maybe he was used by anti-trump forces... we shall see... Anyway he is a dream come true for Russian propaganda.

One priority is that Trump wins in November.
He will show the world that aggressors stealing other peoples lands and homes simply can’t win. Illegals coming from Mexico to America, illegals coming from Russia to Ukraine, or illegal Hamas or Hezbollah savages invading and going berzerk in Israel... simply have no future under a Trump admninstration.

Most of GP's reporting is writing editorial opinions on what other news or commentators on X.com have created. GP itself creates little original content. This is from an interview by The New Yorker with Zelensky. GP's tone of Zelensky's overoptimism is not shared in the New Yorker interview.

What Zelensky says and what he knows are not the same. He has to talk tough to get support and talk of Ukraine's victory as if it is certain because he has to. He knows that the only way Ukraine can win, is if Russia is put in a position where their victory is impossible. This is not the same as the AFU Russia out of Ukraine.

“Evidently if Zelensky did something seen as meddling in the US campaign that would be a stupid mistake.”

He just did it. He went to a crucial swing state in the company of a prominent Democrat, Josh Shapiro, and trashed Trump and Vance. Being that you’re a foreigner, maybe you don’t understand US politics. He’s more likely to get a better deal from Trump than Harris. Harris down with the CBC. Do you think the likes of Hank Johnson and Maxine Waters care a rat’s fundament about Ukraine? to them they’re just a bunch of white crackers that all look the same. They’re gonna want the money spent on their own grifts.

This jive again. we’re also funding the Ukraine government, plus their pensions. That sure isn’t spent here.

rdcbn1: "This is just so wrong on so many different levels…."

Maybe, but not everything is as it seems on the surface.
The original news reports such as this one from Sunday, said Zelensky intended to meet with Pres. Trump on Thursday or Friday.

The latest reports, such as this one from yesterday, don't mention a Trump visit.
Instead, we see Zelensky criticizing Trump & Vance's plans for peace in Ukraine.

So there are a number of points to be made here:

  1. Zelensky's comments on Trump's peace ideas are not new, he made similar comments in the past year.

  2. Trump has presented peace in Ukraine as something easily achieved and necessary to avoid World War Three.
But Zelensky is committed to not surrendering any of Ukraine's 2013 internationally recognized borders, and so will not agree if that is the result of negotiations.

  3. Zelensky also argues that Russian victory over Ukraine will only encourage further Russian, Chinese, Iranian and other dictators to start World War III.

  4. I think Trump fully understands those issues, but he also knows that election victory in Pennsylvania may come down to 100,000 votes by pacifist Christians who normally don't vote in large numbers.
If they see Trump attacked for being too much anti-war, that is not a bad thing for Trump -- do you understand this point?

  5. The historical analogy here is Dwight Eisenhower, who also won reluctant pacifist Christian voters by promising to end Pres. Truman's war in Korea.
In 1952 Eisenhower promised voters he'd go to Korea to end the war, and after the election, he did go, and learned there that ending the war would not be so easy.
Today the Korean War is still not officially over.

December 1952 Republican Pres.-elect Eisenhower
visited Korea after election, as promised:

Today nobody knows how, or even if, Trump & Vance can end the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but Ukrainians can reasonably suspect it would be at Ukraine's expense and with Russian victory.
No Ukrainian leader -- Zelensky or anyone else -- will ever support such a plan, and so the end results are likely to be... similar to Pres. Eisenhower's in 1952.

September 1905, Treaty of Portsmouth ended Russo-Japanese War,
Japanese victory, Republican Pres. Teddy Roosevelt won a Nobel Prize,
Tsarist Russia suffered a democratic revolution:

I don't think "meddling" is the right word because, originally, Zelensky planned to meet with Trump on Thursday or Friday this week.
His purpose is to explain Ukraine's plan to defeat Russia's invasion.

Whether that meeting will still happen is not clear.

However, Zelensky's comments on Trump's peace ideas are not new, he's made similar remarks for over a year.
Zelensky does not believe a negotiated peace will be as easy to achieve as Trump makes it sound.

What's certain is that Trump needs the votes of Pennsylvania's religious pacifists, non-interventionists, isolationists and other anti-war types, and so criticisms from Zelensky are not necessarily a bad thing for Trump-Vance.

Williams: "He had been a hero for his country..."

JonPreston: "His country is America's military proxy, and he survives by doing the bidding of the absolute worst, most corrupt politicians the West can produce.
The only thing heroic about him is his uncanny ability to strip out the wealth from middle class Americans and steal it for himself and his inner circle."

All that is pure Russian propaganda nonsense.
The truth is that Zelensky has been heroic in defending his country against Russia's blatant revanchist empire building aggressions.
In that, he has been compared to Churchill, with many parallels to cite, including Britain's dependence on support from the US and many other countries adding to the UK's circa 3.5 million troops, including:

  1. USA -- 3 million troops, billions of dollars
  2. India -- 1.4 million troops
  3. Canada -- 630,000 troops
  4. Australia -- 400,000 troops
  5. New Zealand -- 130,000 troops
  6. South Africa -- 135,000 troops
  7. Other colonies -- 135,000 troops
  8. Free French -- 1,300,000 troops
  9. Polish exiles -- 200,000 troops
We might also notice that Churchill and Zelensky are roughly the same height, though the older Churchill was doubtless heavier.

As far as corrupt western politicians, sadly, that's all too true, however not unique to today.
Churchill also had to deal with the most corrupt of corrupt leaders, notably Joseph Stalin.

The best numbers I can find for total US aid authorized since Russia's February 2022 invasion are as follows:

  1. + $107 billion in military aid to Ukraine (weapons, training and G-2/J-2 support)

  2. + $44 billion in humanitarian aid (i.e., food, shelter & support for refugees)

  3. + $24 billion in financial & other aid (i.e., loan guarantees, energy infrastructure, budget & social services).

    = $175 billion total authorized
    - $ 35 billion not yet delivered

= $140 billion US aid delivered to Ukraine.

Of course, our pro-Russian propagandists all tell us this is just a corrupt money-laundering scheme, but nobody has yet provided a shred of evidence to support such claims.

Total destruction in Ukraine from Russia's invasion approaches $1 trillion:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Indeed.
As I previously said “if” Zelensky came to America to meddle in the presidential election campaign that would have been a mistake. Again “IF”.
I have intensively looked through all news outlets this morning, and I see nothing which could be seen as Zelensky supporting the Harris campaign, in any way.

The “Gateway Pundit” as usual totally misled, took out of context, and viciously and artificially poured gasoline on fire. The Gateway Pundit was the one who drove the “Release the Kraken” narrative... which supposedly was the bombshell to help Trump win in 2020. Well... it was all cooked up fantasy, and many of us conservatives fell for it.
The Gateway Pundit is an unserious, clickbaiting machine.

As you said, Zelensky have said nothing different to what he has always been saying for at least a year now:
“That he won’t let his country be dilapidated and plundered” by any so called “peace deals” that would accept a chopped-up Ukraine and parts of it being given for free to Moscow. There is nothing anti-Trump in that. Trump has NEVER said he would accept a “chopped-up” Ukraine and part of it becoming Russian.

Zelensky want to protect Ukraines BORDERS just like Trump wants to protect America’s BORDERS. I believe that’s a conservative trademark to “protect borders”.
On that point there is zero difference between Trump and Zelensky. Same policies. They are conservatives.

Again:
Trump has actually never said anything about how his peace deal would look like.
Only Vance mistakenly and swiftly uttered a botched-sounding idea. I don’t think that Trump was ok with that Vance comment by the way.

Vance has uttered a number of things lately which does not help the Trump campaign and Trump’s foreign policies.
Trump plays 4d chess. Vance plays in 1d.
