UPDATE: At least four people are reportedly dead, with approximately 30 injured, per CNN. As of 2:23 pm ET, CNN reports that nine people were transferred to hospitals with injuries and four are confirmed dead, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
One suspect is in custody.
According to CNN, “The shooter who opened fire inside Apalachee High school is believed to be a 14-year-old boy, a law enforcement source tells CNN. The source said it is not yet known whether the teen attended that school.”
An active shooter situation at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta, is believed to have left four dead and approximately 30 injured on Wednesday morning.
The school was placed on a hard lockdown, which was suspended at approximately 11:30 am, according to reports.
Per an early report from the New York Post, “At least one person is dead and a suspect is in custody after authorities responded to a report of an active shooter at a northern Georgia high school on Wednesday.” The number has now grown, according to law enforcement sources.

With the recent revelations in Nashville transgender shooter Audrey Hale’s manifesto, hopefully, the country will have a renewed focus on the mental illnesses involved in violent acts like this and the effects of psychiatric drugs as “treatment.” As The Gateway Pundit reported, Hale, 28, had two decades as a psychiatric patient at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center with at least five mental illness diagnoses and was treated with numerous drugs that could be responsible for the shooter’s deadly thoughts. And the FBI’s Behavioral Threat Assessment Center is withholding these medical records from the public:
Still, leftist politicians and their media hacks will perpetuate the narrative that guns are responsible for deranged homicidal ideations while continuing to pour billions of dollars into mental health treatments and drugs. It is currently unknown what role mental illness and drugs played in the Georgia shooter's actions.
The FBI issued a statement on this shooting, saying, "FBI Atlanta is aware of the current situation at Apalachee High School in Barrow County. Our agents are on scene coordinating with and supporting local law enforcement," per Fox Atlanta.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) responded to the news asking America to join her in praying for all students and staff.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp also issued a statement on X:

SkyFOX 5 flew over the scene and emergency responders could be seen treating people at the school. At least two people were observed being put into helicopters to be flown to hospitals for treatment. Dozens of law enforcement officers and ambulances were also observed outside the school.
Grady Memorial Hospital confirmed at 12:20 p.m. they had received one gunshot victim from the school. No other information was released.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m., the school told FOX News that the school had been cleared and students are being released to their families. Students may be picked up from the school. Buses will also run for students needing transportation to their homes. The school says it will share more information as soon as it can.
According to U.S. News & World Report, there are approximately 1,900 students enrolled at the school. It is one of two high schools in the Barrow County Public Schools district

What we will likely never hear is how this kid was tormented (whether real or in his head) that drove him to do this. There is ALWAYS a trigger.
Kids treating each other badly is nothing new. Driving kids to grab a gun and start shooting is something else altogether.
We rarely hear about the “trigger” event. I wish schools would be more open about the crap our kids do to each other.
Generally, when the news does NOT identify the "radical white conservative Trump-supporter", it's obvious they don't want to disclose the feral "Yutes", with the tarantula road-kill hairdo's, and no father to be found.....
My daughter lives 3 miles from this school. It’s very “country” living. It’s very safe where she lives and very beautiful part of Georgia. Not sure if they’ve brought in lots of illegal aliens there.
And then lock him up for the rest of his life or execute him, and I don’t care which.
Saw someone on a YouTube channel commenting that the shooter is a “migrant child”. Has anyone seen that reported anywhere?
We have a mental health crisis in this country and nobody’s talking about it. The experts and professionals are making it worse.
Allegedly, a student who was there said there was more than one shooter, that it was some sort of revenge fight. I’m sorry I don’t have a link. At this point, anything could be true. I suspect it’s more of a fight than an deliberate mass shooting.
Hmmmm. The sheriff is now giving a press conference he says, “hate will not prevail in this county I want that to be very clear and known, love will prevail over what happened today”. “Shooter will be charged with murder and tried as an adult”.
His words sound like this could possibly be headed towards a hate crime.

What we never hear about any of these shooters is how much weed they consume or what meds they are on to control their behavior.
There was a study done by the FBI a few years ago. No matter what the extenuating circumstances (IQ, mental issues, drugs) they could track the shooting back to a single triggering event.
We rarely hear what that event is, because the focus is always on the guns. They don’t announce it because it is usually not really defined for a week or so after the event. They don’t announce it because no one wants to know that little Brad or Buffy treated Malcom the Shooter like crap for months or years before he put a bullet in their head.
No, understanding the trigger event does not excuse the killer. But it explains the process and it could work to help prevent other shootings that will happen down the road.
But that won't stop them from using this event to try to separate us from our God given rights.
We’ll see if “teachers, administrators and those who knew [him] – along with other records and accounts – show that he was well-known to school and mental health authorities”, and if the school administrators upheld a process “of getting students help rather than referring them to law enforcement”.
God out of schools, dysfunctional families being the rule and to top it off the secretary of education and health promoting the woke culture... what can we expect?

Somebody called in a threat around 9:00 am and then hit them at 9:30. Yes, they should have shut it down immediately, but there are so many hoaxes that they probably wanted confirmation before doing anything.
I don’t think that’s going to happen again. Which of course will result in thousands of faux closings once the students realize this trick.
I want to know of this kid was on SSRI drugs. And where did he get the gun?
