The Foo Fighters are clarifying that they didn’t approve of one of their songs being played during a Donald Trump rally in Arizona.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. dropped out of the presidential race and the independent politician is now backing the former Republican president.
During a rally in Gilbert in the swing stage, the song “My Hero” was played, and now the band, fronted by Dave Grohl, is breaking their silence.
“Let us be clear,” the band’s social media account on X/Twitter posted.
The band shared a screenshot of an exchange with another X user asking the Foo Fighters if they had let Trump use their song.
“No,” the Foo Fighters replied.
A Foo Fighters representative said in a statement to EW, “Foo Fighters were not asked permission, and if they were, they would not have granted it.” The band also noted that they would donate royalties generates from Trump’s usage of the song to Kamala Harris’ campaign.
Earlier this month, Celine Dion’s team also publicly rejected the Trump campaign used the singer’s “My Heart Will Go On” during a rally.
“Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana,” read the statement from August 10.
“In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use,” the statement continued. “…And really, THAT song?”
Didn’t realize dave grohhl was such a butt hurt faggot.
Trump supporters should stop patronizing any of these degenerates don’t buy their music. Don’t watch them on TV. Don’t patronize your sponsors and certainly don’t attend their “concerts”
What stupid business people
If the artist sold his music for public use, they can’t stop who uses it. They are just virtue signaling.
Awww geez, you mean I have to put my Nirvana album in the next garage sale pile of stuff? It is so iconic what with the babies jigger floating in water. Life goes on I guess.
That was a Turning Point rally and all the music and hoopla was not made by Trump.
Everyone noticed the music was different didn’t they?
Anyway, the Poo Fighters may have a problem because it would be Turning Point they would have to go after.
Smells like teen spirit
President Trump should sue them for defamation to implying he stole their music when he has legally paid the fee to use their song.
Another bunch of old has beens who think their opinion on anything matters.
Who GAF?
Grohl usually strikes me as a decent, down-to-earth guy. I would have expected him to support Trump instead of the bossy billionaires in the Democrat Party. Guess I was wrong.
Maybe they’re just making a desperate virtue signal, so the Bolsheviks don’t burn down all their stuff.
Foo Fighters. John Kasich was a big fan.
He’s not well liked in the industry from everything I’ve read.
They can’t stop the use of their music. Royalties are paid for use. This is nothing but virtue signaling. And yeah Dave Grohl has a reputation for being a real a**hole. He required anyone that wanted to come to a Foo Fighters show to be vaccinated.
No Apologies.
What I’d like to know is whether artists even have any legal authority to stop political figures from playing their songs at events. If not, Trump should flip both of them the bird and keep playing.

They may not even own the rights to their songs. Even if they did the artist usually does not get into the day to day licensing of their music.
So as long as the Trump campaign paid to use the music, they are in the clear.
They made the news....for the first time in over a decade. Privately slapping high fives....
Heck I ain’t started and don’t even know what a poo fighter is
Geez guys, you’ve just limited your audience to white liberal women with cats. Fill a stadium with that!
