Trump’s weakness in picking people is hardly a secret.

It’s literally his most notable flaw.

His lawyer; Hailey; Sessions; Fauci (not entirely his fault); Pence; etc.

Of course, he doesn’t have much from which to choose.

I hope not. I hate it when popular GOP governors and Senators are plunked from their office for some federal role and putting that office in play, possibly - depending on succeeeding candidates - and maybe risking a Dim victory for it.

If Trump MUST pick a current GOP office holder, pick one whose term expires in January 2025 and who cannot run again for that office in November.

Well, the timing of this is interesting, at least...

Trump to be joined by Youngkin at Virginia rally after first debate

"Youngkin is my first choice"

Letting your little RINO out, aren't you?

You would think so, but the Youngkin team lost the VA legislature at our midterms which really hurts when you can only serve a single term at a time as governor.

As well, while I like and support him still, Youngkin seems particularly tone deaf about his idea of building a sports complex in Northern VA and luring the DC teams to it. I really don't know what he's thinking in expending political capital on it. I suspect I'm far from alone among conservatives in opposing it and you know the RATS and RINOs in Northern VA will never support him no matter how many stadiums he builds there.

Youngkin is an opportunist. The only reason he was elected governor of VA is because Northam and the VA dems shit on students parents. Youngkin and company played that angle to perfection to win the governorship. He has no national profile as yet, not sure he will play well there.

Not my top choice, but a decent and safe pick.

I just don’t want Trump picking a social liberal like Stefanik, or even Burghum.

Youngkin is hardly a MAGA patriot, but I think it's not a bad move and presents an opportunity to re-take Virginia ... which would be huge!

Not thrilled, but I get it ... and if it turns out to be Youngkin, it may be worth a shot.

Youngkin is a milquetoast and not a fighter. He's born to be mild.

President Trump needs a pugilist, not a puppy dog.

There have been many threads speculating about Trump’s running mate.

The only certainty ,is that if you read people’s comments, that you can find something wrong with any potential running mate for Trump.

There are pluses and minuses to anyone Trump might choose.

If Youngkin can help carry Virginia, and attract some more moderate voter support, he would be a good choice.

Younkin has a lot of private world experience, just like Trump. Also he is not a life long politician, which is a plus. Go for it!

I'm in TOTAL agreement with your statement!

I heard the following attributed to the late Associate Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg:

"Those who talk don't know. Those who know don't talk".

She was referring to the inner workings of the Supreme Court, but I think it can also be applied to all this VP speculation.
