A construction crew working on a bridge in Alaska’s Denali National Park was ordered to remove their American flag from their equipment. The park official said it “detracted” from the park experience.
Alaska Watchman reported:
The crew working on a 475-foot-long bridge in Alaska’s Denali National Park was recently told that they could no longer fly the American flag from their trucks or heavy equipment, which are being used in the $207 million Federal Highway Administration project.
..... Snip.....
According to the contractor, Denali National Park Superintendent Brooke Merrell contacted the man overseeing the federal highways project, claiming there had been complaints about the U.S. flags, and notifying him that bridge workers must stop flying the stars and strips from their vehicles because it detracts from the “park experience.”
“The trucks are flying these American flags, about a foot atop the trucks, about three-foot by four-foot flags, and they said they don’t want this,” the contractor explained. “They’re saying it isn’t conducive and it doesn’t fit the park experience.”

This person needs to be distracted fro that job.
I MEAN FIRED.
Just because she’s ugly on the outside, it doesn’t require she has to be ugly on the outside. This is the hallmark of low frequency people. It is her ilk that “detracts from the park experience”.
Given that this was government work, I’m guessing that the construction workers were union guys.
Say what you want about union construction workers. But they’re a tough and patriotic bunch. I find it hard to believe that they would defer to piece of trash like that park official.
The union construction workers I know *might* take their flags down if under enough pressure. But then they would have evened things out. Maybe they would have used a key to modify the paint on that park official’s car - if you get my drift.
Mt. McKinley National Park.
The problem began when the feds changed the name from Mt. McKinley to the modern spelling of the Koyukon Athabaskan word “Deenaalee”.
I bet if it had been named Mt. Obama, the name would never, ever be changed.
Again, some government bureaucrat drives up the cost to taxpayers, by the bureaucrat ignoring the First Amendment.
You would think the russians across the way might have seen a flag and got triggered. Wasn’t an American politician (Sarah Palin) notorious for saying years back that she could see russia from her front porch?
“Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK) wrote a strongly worded letter to the National Park Service demanding answers.”
Strongly worded letter. About the same impact as writing a letter to the editor.
That's always problematic with GS federal employees. But a 90 suspension, demotion and a nice new assignment to the oldest, smallest crap hole station in Death Valley National Monument should get her to self terminate at a reduces cost to the taxpayers.
I care.
Instead of Death Valley, I suggest latrine detail at McMurdo Station during winter months.
Just like all those liberals in congress waving Ukrainian flags, there are quite a few liberals who hate the American flag unless they are lighting it on fire, or stopping on it.
She does not have the legal authority to enforce this ba.
They sure fly the Wayne Bow with impunity
“The next few days will make everything else pale in significance...”
What happens in the next few days?
There’s something wrong with too many of you people. Why allow your buttons to be pushed so easily? For starters it’s Gateway. Second if these people take it sitting down it’s on them. A strongly worded letter-give them an F for the day.
Go ahead and get butt hurt. No fight in you.
“ Wasn’t an American politician (Sarah Palin) notorious for saying years back that she could see russia from her front porch?”
Since you are a reader of FreeRepublic, I am fairly certain that you know that the dishonest propaganda media changed what Sarah did say to make it seem that she said she could see Russia from her porch. She actually said that Russia could be seen from Alaska, which is completely true.
Since you did not include the appropriate end-sarcasm symbol, I am just making sure you are aware of the difference.
Give the national parks to the states. Problem solved.
Virtue Grandstanding is hard.
