The Cargo Ship that struck and destroyed The Francis Scott Key bridge in Baltimore, Maryland appears to have lost power twice before impact with the bridge.
The ship’s lights then blink back on right before it hits the bridge support.
Here is the video.

The Francis Scott Key Bridge has collapsed into Baltimore Harbor after a cargo ship apparently lost power twice and collided with it at 1:30am ET.

I guess the captain won’t be doing any weddings for awhile.
It’s amazing that with all the bridges and all the ships that pass them throughout the Unites States every single day, there’s ONE incident like this and otherwise smart people see conspiracy theories rather than an accident. I’d be horrified to live in a world where I am convinced every tragic incident is a planned attack. How do you people sleep at night with these thoughts constantly going through your heads???
Then whats your theory?
They dont sleep. They play video games in the basement.
How do you defend against a 100,000 ton ship drifting without control? The largest battleship in history, the Yamato, was around 70K tons for comparison. I’ve heard people mention reinforcing the bridge foundations, but I suspect there’s a limit to what can be done at a sane cost against such occurences.
It’s human nature.
My wife thinks everything that breaks is my fault automatically......................
6 construction workers who were repairing potholes are missing.
Looks like they were trying to make a hard turn to starboard in order to make the short span. During the first outage, they were adrift toward the main span of the bridge by my estimation, and if they never regained power twice, they probably would have avoided the hitting the bridge support
Did the forward lookout fall asleep?
And what was the pilot up to, preventing him from seeing with his eyes that the ship was careening out of the shipping channel?
All of those lights onshore and the pilot couldn’t determine where the pillars were? BS.
JUST IN: Officials stopped cars from crossing the Francis Scott Key Bridge just moments before the cargo ship collided, saving lots of lives.
According to Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, the ship issued a “mayday” call before colliding.
The workers on the bridge jumped into action and halted traffic, saving many lives.
“The ship issued a mayday loss of power. The workers on the bridge halted traffic right before impact. They saved lots of lives,” Moore said.
Six people remain missing. Two have been rescued and sent to the hospital.
True; against the idea that this is a terrorist attack I would point out the incident happened in the middle of the night, which is fortunate from a casualty standpoint. One would expect a terrorist attack to have been timed for rush hour.
Answers to questions that don’t make sense are often hidden in plain sight, you may never know for sure but the idea of a cyber attack seems like a real possibility, a cargo ship minutes into a 27-day journey loses power while in port but with not enough time to take corrective action
I think they are just big HYBRIDS....................
“How do you defend against a 100,000 ton ship drifting without control?”
I watch goofy shows like “Engineering Disasters”. I’m no expert, but on one of the episodes a bridge had been hit, and they put barriers around the supports.
Sometimes a terrible ,tragic accident is just that,an accident. However consider if the ships engineer and helmsman were in cohoots. The engineer shuts the lights, puts the ship in all ahead full and the helmsman with the lights out, unseen steers it into the bridge. Could they be ISIS? This happened less than one week after the Moscow carnage. Wonder if our crack FBI and Homeland security agents will investigate thoroughly, interview the crew and do background checks? However the “no terrorism “ script has already been determined. They will find no evidence.
The ship lost power. That would include the controls, it’s not like it is steered by a guy manhandling a rudder.
