'I Would Be Open to That': Tulsi Gabbard Throws Her Hat In for Trump's VP Pick
Red State ^ | 03/01/2024 | Ben Kew

The likelihood of former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard becoming Donald Trump's running mate is rising by the day.

In an interview with Jesse Watters over on Fox, Gabbard made no secret of her willingness to serve as Trump's vice presidential nominee if she was asked.

"You're being considered for a VP slot, is that something you are open to?" Watters asked during "Jesse Watters Primetime."

"I would be open to that," she responded. "My mission is to serve our country. I want to be in a position to solve problems."

🚨New: Tulsi Gabbard says she is open to being President Trump’s VP in 2024. Waters asked her, “Are you open to being Trump’s VP?” @TulsiGabbard responded by saying, “I would be open to that.”pic.twitter.com/CeUO8Y7DbH— The Calvin Coolidge Project (@TheCalvinCooli1) March 2, 2024

Gabbard, who is regarded as somewhat of a political maverick, has long been touted as a potential running mate for Trump or as a third-party candidate.

In October 2022, she announced she was leaving the Democratic Party, describing it as an "elitist cabal of warmongers who are driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoking anti-white racism who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms that are enshrined in our Constitution."

In February, The Hill revealed that Gabbard would headline a fundraiser for Trump later this month at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

They reported at the time:

According to an invitation shared exclusively with The Hill, Gabbard is set to be the keynote speaker at the 917 Society’s annual fundraiser on March 7 for a night in Palm Beach “celebrating the Constitution.”

The event comes after Trump, the current front-runner for the Republican nomination, acknowledged Gabbard is under consideration to be his vice presidential choice among several other contenders.

Dinner for the event costs $1,250, according to the invite.

Trump himself has confirmed that he would be open to choosing Gabbard, telling Laura Ingraham during a Fox News town hall in February that she and Vivek Ramaswamy, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem would all be possible candidates.

“Honestly all of those people are good,” Trump, 77, told Ingraham. “They’re all good, they’re all solid.”

When attendees at the largely pro-Trump Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland in February were surveyed about who they would choose as his VP, Gabbard came in second place.

Although Gabbard's chances of being chosen appear more likely by the day, her choice would still be unconventional. As a former Democrat, she previously endorsed the candidacies of both Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, and holds left-wing positions on everything from abortion and the environment to drug policy and LGBT rights.

“So she’s strong on that one issue.”

When you have a bunch in power careening into World War 3 (even under Trump), now talking about NATO troops in DIRECT COMBAT with a country that can blow us off the map, then other issues, like tax cuts for deferred interest take a slightly lower priority, at least in my book.

You must have forgotten the “sarc” tag on that post!
Gabbard is, and always has been, a radical democrat. Her platform includes:
Assault weapons (whatever that means) bans.
Reparations paid by taxpayers (who never owned slaves).
Citizenship for illegal alien invaders.
Unrestricted abortions.
No fossil fuels.
Government mandated minimum wage.
Ending the electoral college.

Tell me again, why she would make a good VP, or President?
I’ll be glad to discuss.

I agree with all of your points. She would NOT make a good vice-president

A poster made the following observation which I did agree with: “The only woman I would have ever considered was Jean Kirkpatrick.”

President Trump knows he must pick a running mate who is as much of populist threat to the deep state as he is. Otherwise, they will kill him - it’s as simple as that.

This person needs to have the full support of the MAGA movement - not only so they can lead the movement in 2028, but so that the deep state knows eliminating Trump will only make things worse for them.

I don’t know who that is - but it’s not Tulsi Gabbard.

I’m thinking it should be a strong personality from MAGA media who articulates MAGA strategies every day…

Steve Bannon, Charlie Kirk, Tucker Carlson… someone who who would make the Left’s heads explode.

Sadly, Tulsi Gabbard is not an Art. II, §1, Cl. 5 natural born U.S. Citizen. Neither is Nikki Haley or Vivek Ramaswamy.

My preferred VP pick would be Allen West.

Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Allen West is a Christian constitutional conservative, combat veteran, a former Member of the US Congress from Florida, the Executive Director for The American Constitutional Rights Union, and a former Texas GOP Chair.

You can go to theacru.org to read his latest essay, entitled “You Own Nothing.”

Can I get an amen from my brothers and sisters?

If you are born in an American territory you are a citizen., You can move into a state from those territory and have full rights and priviledges as a full citizen. You don’t need a green card!

Her mom was from Indiana and her dad was from American Samoa...Citizens. “Nuff said!”

The political parties have been changing. There is now a uniparty that has taken control of our country. When republicans say how great Joe is, we have enemy under the wire. So the uniparty has to be killed. It will take traditional liberals and conservatives to break it up. So we might see a temporary cease fire in order to destroy the enemies of America. The chess board is moving.

That’s how I see it. That’s what gave us PDJT in 2016. However, I’m not that smart. Republicans still get called the party of the rich and demonrats the party of the working guy and we all know that’s all BS.

Thoughtful reply. Thank you.

I think Vivek is the guy. Someone who the world may refuse but God has always been in the business of choosing those who man rejects.

Is the criminal deep state afraid of Vivek like they are of Trump? I don’t think they are afraid of anyone like they are of Trump. But if Vivek believes and does what he says, and I think he does, then they’ll be in for a surprise once he does take the reigns in 2028 if not before.

Let’s trust in God, like our Founders, and not in man and we’ll see.

And she would lose him anyone who has followed her closely. Heartbeat away matters because of downside risk. Trump won’t pick Tulsi so the question is moot.

What is the Current Status of American Samoans? American Samoans are considered U.S. nationals, which means they are entitled to some rights and protections under U.S. law, but they are not considered U.S. citizens. American Samoans cannot vote in U.S. elections, run for political office, or serve on a jury.Jun 18, 2023

Is someone from American Samoa a U.S. citizen?
Unlike citizens of other U.S. territories who are U.S. citizens, American Samoans are U.S. nationals. However, neither citizens nor nationals of U.S. territories vote in Federal elections and pay Federal taxes.

“ Why are so many MAGA conservatives being seduced by Tulsi Gabbard and RFK, Jr. They’re democRATs, people!”

Because the only thing worse than Democrats is Republicans.

JFKJ is a HARD, HARD leftist ... PERIOD ...”

They both understand the regime and want it brought down - and that’s all that matters.

Fair enough. I’ll just add that part of the Trump doctrine is peace through strength, speak softly but carry a big stick, etc. I worry about people forgetting the strength part and ignoring the necessity of having a strong military and the willingness to use it if necessary. Peace through strength is not the same as pacifism. That’s why I’m not as enthusiastic about people like Rand Paul, as others are. I don’t know where Tulsi stands in that regard but I have concerns.
