Well, that response should bring the viewers back! I’m sure consumers will show up with Bud Light in hand ready to watch a movie about 2 hispanic trans-stingrays and three black non-binary angel fish (of which one is missing a fin) looking for their jointly “birthed” (via a porpoise surrogate)lost minnow who was kidnapped by the big white whale.

Although some times if he likes it I do not. That is ok, not everyone likes the same kind of stuff. But he does seems want the same thing I do which is a story.
The problem is that Disney has very bad writers, there is a reason for that and a reason why NO ONE with any talent as a writer works for Disney. If they still had talented writers they would not be in nearly as much trouble even if they were pushing the same message. A talented writer can work a lot of propaganda into a movie and still make it an enjoyable story as well. Which is what you will find in older movies and shows. THE MESSAGE was there, baked into a tasty cake rather then the mud pie they are serving it in now.
Disney took eagle eyed aim at their foot and blew it off when they decided to cheat their writers.

That’s right. Films that wanted to used to have allegorical messages. They were subtext to the story. Today’s filmmakers often (but not all) lack nuance. It’s in your face. Which can work in some films. But doesn’t work for all of them.
Star Wars had all kinds of races working together to defeat the dark imperial forces. High Noon was an allegory about McCarthyism. Today many films are pro-establishment. Where are the rebels? They can’t make a movie at Disney they are blacklisted, just like in the days of McCarthyism.
