Sorry but this never ends. There is little doubt that more American bases will be attacked. Most Americans have no comprehension of the absolute loathing the majority of Muslims in the Mideast have for America. Try to imagine if a foreign power in order to coerce their perceived correct behavior had military bases scattered throughout America and powerful fleets on each coast. How would Americans react whatever the foreign power’s reasoning. George Washington gave sound advice in his farewell address: Avoid foreign entanglements. Someone please explain in specific detail how our interventions in those alien lands are enhancing the security of the United States and why should young Americans be asked to make the supreme sacrifice?

Considering the current trajectory of middle east politics, there’s a pretty good chance our time in Iraq will come to a close under the next President, regardless of who wins in November. The weapons we left with the Taliban will look small compared to what we will leave in Iraq.
