Here is another browser option.

I just started using it. It's a very simple design, easy to use. Unlike other browsers, it isn't loaded with bloatware and you aren't overwhelmed by options.

Duck Duck Go Browser Install

Try or don't try. Use or don't use.

Unless I can enable multiple tab rows, plus my fav. extensions (thank God for such), then such is only good for minimal use.

No you weren't. From DuckDuckGo's Privacy-Focused Web Browser Now Available for Windows, published June 22, 2023:

"Last year, DuckDuckGo, which is best known for its search engine, released a privacy-focused web browser for Mac. Today, that same browser is available for Windows as a public beta."

Apologies! I was thinking search engine, as I’d posted, upthread.

Thx.

Duck Duck Go is a search engine.
I’ve used it for more years than I can count.
Only in rare exceptions do I “Google”.
For my browser I use Brave, which is Chromium based.
Not Chrome.
Brave has a built in VPN and can be very private.
I run Linux O/S so I don’t have to mess with
Windows or Mac. Linux is not for the casual user though.
I have a computer science degree so I can deal with the “Features”.

The one I remember offhand was Wyoming Armory.

I just wish there was a single browser that allowed searches as deep as they were 12 years ago. I can’t find one. They are all very shallow.

I’ve been an Opera/Vivaldi fan for probably 30 yeats, They are “expert” friendly, but very useful. Bookmark handling is very good. The keyboard shortcuts are great, saving lots of time.

Do Brave for over advertising overloads.

Chrome when I really have to.

When I get 4K/32” in, should probably have close to side by side rather than one mostly on top of the other.

It’s ok. Mozilla pre-40 was a lot of fun when extensions were easy to write and easy to use: you could beat every paywall, one-click peer-to-peer, and no censorship.

I just need to know if they celebrate β€œpride” or march in queer parades. That will tell you everything else.

You are about 12 years late to the DDG show...
Better late than never...😎

Five or six years here at least, but sometimes it’s difficult to change an Analog Guy to something new.😎🀭

I do no casual surfing on Chrome.

Chrome does not exist in my world.

DDG is not an alternative to Google. DDG uses Google to run its searches.

Do the following. Pick a political subject.

Run a search on Google.
Run a search on bing.
Run a search on DDG.

Now run that same search on Yandex. The difference will amaze you.

Try that for multiple subjects. You’ll see what I’m talking about.

Been using it for a few years now and it is what they claim it to be...I’m satisfied with it.

Basically I was referring to the DDG search engine, which I’ve used for much longer than the 12 years I quoted...

However, with reconsideration, “ken in texas” was referring specifically to the modifications that DDG made to promote it as a full fledged browser... So in that context I was mistaken...

For a browser, I’ll give up Brave when they peel my computer from my cold dead fingers...😎
