Politico reported:
The Colorado Republican Party asked the Supreme Court to reinstate Donald Trump on the primary ballot — officially dragging the nation’s top court into the fight over whether the former president can be legally barred from office.
The state Republican committee asked the court late Wednesday to overturn the ruling issued by the Colorado Supreme Court earlier this month, when it struck Trump from the state’s presidential primary ballot. The court ruled that Trump engaged in an insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021, disqualifying him from the presidency under an interpretation of the 14th Amendment — but paused its ruling until the Supreme Court could weigh in.
The state GOP’s petition argues three points: The office of the presidency is not covered by the 14th Amendment, the insurrection clause is not “self-executing” — meaning Congress alone must enforce it, and states cannot make that determination on their own — and that by kicking Trump off the primary ballot, the state Republican Party’s First Amendment rights of association have been violated.

They will probably kick it back down to appeals.............
“Dragging”? SCOTUS should be supersonic-jetting over to the issue.
One interpretation of the Colorado SC’s ruling claims that an appeal by Trump to the SC makes the current ‘stay’ permanent. If that’s correct, case would be closed with Trump on the ballot.
Not sure if Trump must appeal, or if anyone appeals.

If they don’t overturn it, the GOP states better start kicking the democrats off the ballots.
“officially dragging the nation’s top court into the fight”
The Colorado Republicans didn’t do that the Colorado scotus did......see how the lefty media tries to set the narrative?
Question: Wouldn’t this also be an important question for the Colorado Legislature?
Yes, CO has a majority of insane woke Leftists on their Supreme Court. But were they considering Colorado law as well? what does it say?
Biden has failed to protect our borders. He should be booted off the ballots for that.
This is all to the Supremes to give Trump a “far-right court win” for something absurd it is even at issue.
Different levels of courts. Sounds like we’re being played by both sides. Different levels, add the time and it gets expensive. We all pay. How about a citizen’s panel of common sense? Doesn’t require expensive law degrees.
The way I understand it, the Colorado Supreme court wrote if Trump appeals to the SCOTUS by Jan 4 the whole mess gets set aside
What court is in between the CO Supreme Court and SCOTUS?
Let’s see if Roberts can come up with some legalese-style gibberish to dodge this one, the way he did in the Texas-Pennsylvania case.
18 U.S. Code § 2383
Why has there been no indictment, trial, let alone conviction of DJT under this US Code? That is the one that deals with insurrection and includes penalties, etc.
For all these a$$clowns yammering incessantly that he was responsible for the ‘insurrection’ on Jan-6, NOT A ONE OF THEM has ever done anything other then ‘alledge’ the insurrection.
Makes no sense to normal folks... Of course, I’m not a lwwyer, so I may be missing something.

With another quick briefcase trip to the Bank of Malta.

It does not matter, the Colorado decision is stayed as soon as the appeal is filed so the issue is moot for the foreseeable future.
10th Circuit................
They can’t.
And if they don’t overturn this, they will have lost all legitimacy.
I've been asking why the Colorado Supreme Court got involved in the party's primary. It's a private affair within the party alone to choose whom they want.
Since President Trump is not the party's official nominee on the general election ballot yet, the Colorado Supreme Court acted prematurely.
