One fringe benefit of viewing reactions to the Colorado Supreme Court taking President OFF the ballot in that state is that you can easily filter the mental cases from the normal people. The mental cases are the ones who screech about "SAVING OUR DEMOCRACY" yet support the removal from the ballot of President Trump. And they want us to somehow believe that it is Trump that would act as a dictator. How? By keeping his political opponents off the ballot like a Third World country... or the Biden regime?

It's going to be FUN to watch the mental cases get the sad sads in a couple of weeks when Trump's name is placed on the Colorado primary ballot automatically simply by Team Trump filing an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

All joking aside, why does my gut tell me that the SCOTUS might let this decision go through?

After saying in December 2020 the 19 states suing the states that changed election law without going through the state legislatures had no standing, NOTHING is a sure thing with SCOTUS.
To: PJ-Comix
Interesting part is if they are forced to inform the people how they concluded his name should not be on a general election ballot when he has not been proven to do what they said he did. And until a trial is concluded, they can’t use reasoning. I would be plese when the bill of attainder arrives at the supreme court. And I hope Trump sues the state into bankrupcy.

After SCOTUS’s reluctance to address the 2020 election, who can blame you? And yet, I have a hard time imagining Thomas, Alito, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and Coney-Barret upholding the Colorado decision. The most I can see them doing is refusing to hear the case, but even that is highly unlikely.

Good article. This line, in particular, stands out.
“Why would the Congress have wanted to empower the former rebel states? If given the power to boot candidates off the ballot they might well do mischief.”

We live in a bizarro, Through the Looking Glass, Twilight Zone Kafkaesque world. Who knows? But I think that the Supreme Court will (rightfully) realize not only is this an insult to the law, it is bad policy. What kind of Pandora's box do you open if this goes through? Hey, the governor of my state is running for president, and he is able to block his chief rival from the primary ballot because of one trumped up (pun intended) charge or another. Texas could keep Biden off it's ballot because he is a influence peddling SOB. Talk about raising havoc. I just don't think it stands.

The SCOTUS should decide on this NOW, not let it fester for several weeks through the rest of the year and into 2024.

“... if they are forced to inform the people how they concluded his name should not be on a general election ballot ...”
That’s where my thinking is now. What’s their basis for claiming Trump is an insurrectionist?
Also, I wonder what Colorado voters think, especially ones who want to vote for Trump.
There’s too much silence from voters on this issue and also the open border issue. Maybe they’ll speak in the next election.
