Los Angeles, California – A Los Angeles homeowner was taken into custody early Wednesday after killing a home invasion suspect while a grandmother and toddler were in the house.
KTLA reported that police were alerted to a “hot prowl” at a home in the 11400 block of Swinton Avenue in Granada Hills around 5 a.m. Saturday morning. A “hot prowl” is a law enforcement term for a burglary in progress when the homeowner is present.
The LAPD revealed that “three or four” males broke into the house before the homeowner turned the tables on them and opened fire.
One of the would-be robbers was struck by the gunfire and died at the scene. The other three suspects fled the scene to an unknown location.
The LAPD suspects an additional suspect was injured during the incident after finding “a trail of blood.”
But the heroic homeowner’s actions did not go unpunished. Video footage at the scene shows the hero being handcuffed following the incident. It is not known at this point whether he has been charged.

This is far from the first time Los Angeles has acted outrageously against a gun-wielding homeowner. The Gateway Pundit reported last month that a father who defended his family and home from intruders had his gun permit revoked for allegedly yelling at the police when they visited his home.
Pat Walsh, one of the hero’s neighbors, revealed to KTLA that there have been burglaries “every day” and residents are “fed up.”
We’ve been having burglaries every day in this neighborhood. So, I’m not surprised at all.
It’s been a real problem. Residents here are fed up.
Another neighbor fully supported the man’s actions in defending his home and expressed hope this could stop the robberies.
The suspects messed with the wrong homeowner, so hopefully this will stop them.
It makes me feel good that people are able to protect their homes and stop these guys.
The Los Angeles Police Department is asking individuals to contact them with information regarding the incident.
Bump for later
The first thing he did wrong was live in Kalifornia. Disgusting laws they have there.
As in most cases of crimes the cops are usually not present to stop the crime, only, sometimes, available to arrest the perp AFTER the crime has been committed.
In this case the homeowner had no way of assuring local police would arrive before someone in his house was endangered. What was he supposed to do, watch the harm being done and do nothing???
When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.................
The LAPD is a domestic terrorist group.
This country’s LEOs are not on our side anymore. There are exceptions, but I wouldn’t want to stake my life on it.
N9 arrest was made
GOOD!...................
Americas new Criminal Code:
Rob someone at gunpoint and wound or kill them, get arrested and release with no bail ... just a promise to be good after that.
Wound or kill an armed individual breaking into to your home to protect your family ... arrested, denied bail and charged for a capital crime
It is virtually guaranteed that if you shoot someone , even in self defense, you will be carted off to the jailhouse for “questioning” where the police will try to get you to confess to some crime. Your best bet is to not ay anything except, “I will not answer any questions without my lawyer present”.
I’m guessing he got cuffed for either saying too much to the cops or for saying nothing. Let’s hope it’s the latter.
Unfortunately, using a firearm in California is likely to lead to bankruptcy, whether you are found innocent or guilty. A civil suit from the dead perp’s family will follow for sure.
I’ve considered CCW insurance but don’t have any confidence that they will actually cover the things they promise to.
Yep, preventing wealth redistribution by defending your person or property is illegal in Ca. Because your person and property belong to the State as public property in common.
May just be standard procedure while they determine his identity.
Crime is legal in California, well not quite, being a member of the criminal class is a protected status in California. Protected persons cannot do wrong therefore it is a crime to hinder them in their activities.
The homeowners must be white and the burglars some of our “strength”.
In California, yes, actually.
CCW insurance -
I haven’t got any good idea which offering is better.
But I do think I need some.
Even with CCW, I’m leaving it at home, due to this stuff.
Unless walking for excercise, where Pit Bulls are loose.
He is in handcuffs in he picture. The police believe him to be dangerous and that he will be charged with a crime.
Not a government worth keeping.
