Cats have always been known for their mysterious and independent nature. They can be a source of unconditional love and comfort for their humans, but they also possess a streak of cunning and aloofness. In a recent incident, a homeowner found himself locked out of his house, with the keys safely inside. Little did he know, his feline companions held the power to either let him in or leave him stranded outside.

Lourdes and I discussed it, and she said, “Maybe we should ask,” but then she said, “If we ask, they’ll just say no,” and I pointed out that it’s not unknown for the choir to practice after Mass, if that’s when we have time to get together.

If they fire us, they’ll have nobody. Good luck getting more obsessed volunteers.

I like your thinking! It’s true they can’t say “no” to practicing. So go for it!

And that’s true that they will have no one, and then, maybe the Parish members will feel disinclined to acquiesce to attending Mass as often or with such fervor.

I think they recognize that they’ll have a problem if they push the whole music program, English and Spanish, out - along with the A/V coordinator - but it’s possible the dementia is sufficiently advanced that they think new and more obedient people will magically emerge from somewhere.

I think the days of “obedient people” are on their ways out. Life in America isn’t as complacent as it used to be and people are waking up the con job the government is using on them.

Small pockets of resistance are showing up everywhere, including in churches. So “practice” celebrating Cinco de Mayo. Life is good!

Yes, it’s a new world. As we discussed a while back, regardless of what your religious affiliation is, you don’t build engagement with and commitment to your community by telling people to shut up and obey.

It’s funny that people not that much older than me could even imagine that would work, but ... dementia.

Quite the day yesterday, clouds, sunshine, rain, snow and dark of night.

The bunnies often aren’t running more than 30’ from Tyson-who-is-not-allowed-on-the-furniture.

He’ll only chase 10’, he and they both know it.

This morning a few tiny sad and forlorn snow flakes fell from a bright partly cloudy sky.

Indeed so.

In other news, I’ve decided that no one is going to be going to Kanab any time soon, so tomorrow, I’ll call the sanctuary and see if anyone is coming down to pick up supplies or animals or, or, or...., and see if they can stop by here and pick up the carrier. The alternative is to mail it back ti them, and any way I choose to have it sent is going to be expensive.

And I don’t have room to store it.

You live in a place with a funny climate. It’s nice that the bunnies are getting away from Tyson.

I don’t want to go to Kanab on my own, as it’s an hour there and an hour plus back because I would have to stop for something to eat, and although I could do it, it means that I would use up all my gas, and I’m not the slightest bit interested in doing that. Not at the price that gas is these days.

They no doubt get discounts for the gas they use as well as use the trips for tax write-offs, and I don’t have any of those perks. So I’ll let them use their charitable benefits.

I think it’s okay to say you’ll give the carrier back eventually, especially if they come for it.

The snow line on Peavine is about 1500’ higher than it was this morning...

What a beautiful kitty!

Good morning. I hope you had a good night.

It’s 41° and will only reach 69° or so today. I want to get the laundry done and go back to bed!

Then there is the epidural to contend with. Oh, joy. Let me get it over with! I hope I can find something with long sleeves to wear today, just so I can feel warm.

Good morning, and not bad. All the bros were home, Jake was in the house but not in the bedroom, and it’s not raining right now.

Good luck with the laundry!

How pretty. A blue kitty.

Years ago my parents’ cat had a litter with one that looked like this. My very little brother (turned 60 this year) named him ... “Bluey” — of course.

Thanks!

Laundry is done, and I’ll try to get another hour or two of sleep. The security light between here and the laundry room is out, and I don’t know if it’s a bulb or if it’s something more serious, but I didn’t like it at all.

I probably would have if I still lived in #6, then I could stand in the street at about the half-way mark and stare up at the stars. But here, there are too many trees with leaves to obscure the view, so the walk was just dark.

I found a long-sleeved pullover that I thought would go good with one of my skirts for Sundays, so it didn’t get put away with the winter clothes. I was thinking, of course, of the A/C in church and the fact that this is a desert, and I don’t like to be uncomfortable. Anyway, that’s what I put on instead of the short-sleeved Kermit-face shirt that I had on yesterday!

Now to try the nap!

I have a suspicion that the color was adjusted. Some of the other photos of that kitten are more plain gray.

Good morning. Happy Monday!

We had a rainy, cool day yesterday. We’re supposed to get up to almost 80 fs today. I’ll have to switch the in-laws’ thermostat to AC mode before it gets too hot outside. F-I-L seems to have taken to the new controls OK.

We get to try the Princess with one fewer pill in her daily regimen today. If all goes well she can stay off it. I think it’s the one that makes her leaky, so that will be good. Getting up at 2am is getting old for both of us.

I got 4s in Wordle all weekend. So it was no surprise today. When I tried word 3 I was a little surprised. I thought one of the new letters would be part of the word, but I had the wrong one.

Wordle 1,052 4/6*
