Homeowner Locked Out Of House Pleads with His Feline Companions To Let Him In
The Pet Zealot ^ | December 01, 2023 | James Alain L.

Cats have always been known for their mysterious and independent nature. They can be a source of unconditional love and comfort for their humans, but they also possess a streak of cunning and aloofness. In a recent incident, a homeowner found himself locked out of his house, with the keys safely inside. Little did he know, his feline companions held the power to either let him in or leave him stranded outside.

OK. Here I am, late, but still, with “news.”

The epidural is necessary, very much so, but the arthritis in my neck isn’t as bad as Rachel thought it would be. The request for the epidural has been sent to my insurance company, so we’re waiting on their approval for the scheduling.

The worsening of the nerve damage wasn’t my imagination, as she said I’ve lost about 6% more usage since my first visit in August.

I don’t know whether Rachel approved the five a day or dropped it to four-and-a-half pills and won’t know until Friday morning. I can pick them up on my way back from Walmart, after I’ve gotten groceries.

As for the bumper exchange...they really didn’t have time today, and had Casey been there last week when I scheduled it, he could have told me so. Dustin doesn’t really know. So, since Casey was there today he said to bring it in the week after Easter.

Dustin was ready to write me in for Monday, the 1st, and I said, “Oh, no! There is no way I’m bringing my car in to have Casey work on it on April Fool’s Day!” To which Casey responded with, “You mean, you didn’t like the pink rims we put on it the last time we worked on it on April Fool’s Day??”

Yeah! I love that guy! He said he knew I’d be back, because that red dust gets in your blood. Indeed, he’s right! So I’ll take it in on Tuesday, April 2nd and get the bumpers swapped out.

And that’s it in a nutshell.

Good and less good, but overall a success, it sound like.

Vlad’s team was 1st and Frank’s was 2nd today. Our arch-rivals from Davidson County Homeschool were 3rd and mad, according to Brenda.

Kathleen had her riding lesson, and I took a nap in the truck.

The “less good” is better than waiting most of the day to find out they wouldn’t have been able to install the bumper, after all. I’ll take it on my own terms, since I chose the 2nd!

Congratulations for Vlad’s team being first and Frank’s being 2nd! The arch-rivals probably will look like they were weaned on pickles until the time they play!

Good for you taking a nap in the truck!

There was a mockingbird nearby with many songs to sing, but I dozed off, anyway. It was very warm.

It was warm, here, too, but I wasn’t waiting outside! Linda was, for almost an hour, but she was on the phone. I invited her to come in while I saw Rachel, but she didn’t want to.

So. I’ll settle down in bed and just get to sleep and Chip will come out of his hidey-hole, eat, then use the litter and wake me up with his artistic endeavors, trying to mold the litter into something that won’t stay put....

Funny you should say that...Although “see” is too strong a word!

Just as I finished with the last post and got my “supper” together and headed for the bedroom, Chip emerged very quickly from his little tent bed and scooted behind the sofa.

I thought that from that time to this, he would have come out to eat, but he didn’t. Evidently, he’ll wait until I turn the lamps off in the bedroom, then slink his dark chocolate self out here to the kitchen to feast.

All four feet are white, but I don’t think he’s a tuxedo. He is dark chocolate, though, that much I know. And is a tiny bit bigger than I thought. Maybe he’s about 7-8 pounds. And maybe in another week, I’ll get another glimpse of him!

I hope you have a good night!

Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!

We had more snow flurries yesterday but, again, nothing stuck. It was 29 fs this morning when I walked the Princess. It felt surprisingly cold, although it got much colder here last winter. I guess my body is already thinking “spring”.

Young ArGee is supposed to come out on Saturday for spring break. Hopefully the weather will let her.

Another bad day of guessing Wordle words, or a great high score, depending on how you look at it.

The pattern is pretty. It’s cold here this morning, too. I need to go to Walmart. Then I need to plan music for Easter - really for most of April, because things are going to be busy, so we’ll need to use the same songs a lot.

It’s always fun to play in “hard mode” and get so many letters right so early. That makes it a pure guessing game for the rest of the letters, and in this case I can only guess 2 at a time. Sometimes most of the words with the correct letters have already won, but today there were lots of possibilities.

Usually when I have 4 good options to guess the 4th one I guess is the right one.

I would have been lousy at “Let’s Make A Deal!”

There were lots of Yellacats at the sanctuary, but they didn’t have the same appeal as Chip did.

Good morning. I hope you had a good night.

Chip explored the bedroom last night by getting onto the chest of drawers. I have a small trinket dish that FD gave me that I keep my rings in, and the rattling of the rings woke me.

Then all I saw was his flag of a tail flying out the bedroom doorway! He only ate his wet food. I guess me catching him in the act of exploring stressed him enough to where he couldn’t eat. Still, the exploring is a good sign so there will be more of it in the coming days, I’m sure.

Today is pill-sorting day, and that’s it. It’s 43° and will get up to about 73°. By Sunday, our high won’t be much more than that, at 53°, with about 60% chance of rain. But then, we always have those few days of winter left over before we can really welcome spring.

I hope Young ArGee is able to make the trip home to you for spring break, though it would appear as though the weather is going to be iffy. Whatever she’s able to do, I hope she does it safely!

Your grid looks like a sitting cat with a very long tail....

Or maybe he shocked his little self with the noise he made.

Good Morning!

Another rain forecast for the overnight that fizzled out... maybe some will arrive today...

I almost matched your score but fell short, I suspect that I missed using one more possible word toward the end, that you were able to work in to the mix...

Sounds like you need to relocate some things from your flat surfaces.

I’ve been to Walmart. Frank is mowing the lawn. James could have done it, but now he’s missed the chance, and Frank will get the money. Silly James and their silly hair.

I sent you letters earlier in the week. You’ll get them eventually.
