In the realm of human-animal interactions, it's not uncommon for horses to demonstrate remarkable emotional intelligence and empathy. Recent evidence of this phenomenon comes from a heartwarming story in which a horse provides comfort to its owner, even without understanding the underlying cause of her tears.
A woman has captured the hearts of millions online with a heartwarming video showcasing her horse's comforting gesture during her moment of despair. Little did the horse know, her tears were shed for him.

This is why I could never be a farmer. My animals are for life.
Side note.
Where do horses go when they get really sick or hurt badly? The Horsepital.
Just kidding, I think they get put down.
“Unbeknownst to the horse, the woman’s tears were a result of the devastating news that her parents had sold him.”
We’ve been there. We read into serious financial distress about 20 years ago and could no longer support our then-teen daughter’s equestrian sport. We were forced to sell her horse. There is nothing more devastating to a young equestrienne, especially in her mid-teens, than losing her horse.
I think our daughter still suffers terribly from that trauma.
A friend calls the hospital the “horse pistol.”
she had carrots in her hand. kidding, that was sweet
Akin to the heartbreak you experience when you know it’s time to put down your beloved dog of 14 (or whatever) years. How can you tell them how much you love them, how much they mean to you, and how sorry you are to send them across their rainbow bridge. To hold them in your arms as the vet administers the shot and they breathe their last. It’s just awful.
That’s why I could never be a vet.
Horses know. Especially when you’re joined up.
James A.L., thank you for your animal stories and videos.
Beautifully and movingly written. I’ve come to realize that losing a pet hurts so much not because they steal our hearts, but because they become part of our hearts. The good news among the sadness is that we also carry them with us forever.
Thank you.
One of my best friends growing up had a horse and it got loose and was killed by a car. Friend was devastated for a long time.
You are welcome lee martell
Thanks so much!
I just don’t get people. If this happened to me, the last thing I would think of would be to prop my phone up and then go back to the horse, and proceed to start crying and post it on the internet for attention.
I had to do that with our cat a few months ago. She was 18, but we’d only had her for three years. I was her human so it fell to me. I carried her from room to room so she could have one last look, then out on the deck so she could see the fields.
I gave her a Bronze Age burial, a Kist Grave out by the barn.
You’re welcome.
I got blurry-eyes just re-reading my own post.
🤔
A worthy passing.
Well done, well-earned.
You win the internet for today!
That reminded me of a news report I saw long ago on a local telescreen channel. A woman had lost her beloved horse, maybe it was hit by a car, that I don’t remember. But she was in tears and the reporter wanted to interview her. She wanted no part of that, and she ran away off into a field, and the scumbag reporter actually chased after her trying to get the interview.
I was sick and angry at what he did. I hope he got fired, but I doubt it.
