Did every city in New Jersey make this list?
Every one ruled by Rats.
Fun fact about Compton, CA: It was once heavily (75%) Black when it had horrific crime. Blacks have been fleeing out since the 1980s, and now it’s over 2/3rds Hispanic.
Has the ban on posting Getty Images at Free Republic been lifted??
America has its share of S-holes ran by DemonKKKrats.
All Democrat run cities.
Jee wiz, its would have much fasted and easer to list the cities that did not make the list.
At least I’m nowhere near any of the cites listed.
Nice grouping of pictures though.
What a depressing list. The uniparty sent all our jobs overseas and let in illegals to lower wages and hollow out the middle class. Mission accomplished.
What a horribly written and disorganized pile of nonsense. Also, why did they put a picture of the Portland, OR train station into the entry for Grants Pass, OR?
With respect to Huntsville, TX, the author makes the point that people on Death Row are likely to be unhappy. It isn’t something that would have occurred to me...
This is what happens when industry all gets shipped to China.
The UAW strike will make it even better in several of these locations.
Born in Gary (same hospital as Michael Jackson and my only claim to fame), had tons of family in Hammond, IN (grew up in a Chicago burb about 20 minutes away) and went to Grad School in Cleveland.
Loved them all but esp. Cleveland.
35 years ago, I was at a 4 way stop light (The only one I ever seen in my life!)
My light turned green but I had to make a left turn into a lot right after the light.
At that point some guy who was stopped by the light, got out of his car and motioned to the 6 or 7 cars behind him to back up so I could turn and THEY ALL DID!!!
Even 35 years ago I was shocked.
The people in Cleveland 35 years ago were fabulous!!!
And the Cleveland Indians had the BEST stadium mustard EVER (Went to games mainly to eat the dogs!)
Born and raised in Bridgeport: the armpit of Connecticut. Little has changed. Don’t go back there anymore.
If you can forgo living within a 10-minute walk from a park, Jacksonville has a LOT of great areas to live, not just the downtown area. It’s the largest city, in sq miles, in the lower 48. The four cities in the U.S. that are larger than Jacksonville are all in Alaska. It’s very easy to travel around J’ville. It’s the junction for I-10 and I-95, with I-295 to get you around the city.
Beyond that, the most common comment seemed to be about the manufacturing that moved out or closed down. 50-70 years ago, manufacturing drove the US economy, but today our biggest product seems to be entertainment, sports or government spending. I heard on this morning's news that some basketball player just signed a 3-year contract for $186 Million. Maybe he can buy a few of these towns and fix them up.
This is what a shit hole banana republic looks like, yet we have billions for countries that hate us.
Reno?? That is pure B.S. Except for the homeless bums who cause all the property crime, Reno is a great city. Neighborhoods are beautiful. I live in a planned community called Somerset which is just incredible. I can’t decide what season looks the most beautiful here. Right now I think it is Fallš. Lots of great casinos, restaurants and entertainment. Hot August Nights and other events. Many ski resorts nearby. Lake Tahoe. It really is the Biggest Little City. You can get from one end of the city to the other in just minutes.
Cleveland does have a high poverty population, and high violent crime on a per capita basis. But that hasnāt stopped a healthy in-migration of residents, as older office buildings are repurposed to upscale apartments and condos. As for the working poor, the cost of living is relatively low compared to larger cities, so thereās that. Cleveland has shrunk to under 400,000 population, as manufacturing jobs have left town; which also means less crowding and attractive open spaces, recreational venues, and a first rate cultural district at University Circle. It isnāt Shangri-La but it has long since outgrown the āmistake-on-the-Lakeā meme.
