Biden Makes Sneaky Move with His Line of Succession, But GOP Quickly Catches Onto It

Joe Biden’s dumpster-fire presidency continues to make a mockery of the U.S. Constitution, spotlighting once again that a motley crew of incompetent stooges is running the White House.

In the latest abomination, Biden was called out for sneakily inserting a temporary Cabinet-level official into the presidential line of succession.

In a scathing statement Wednesday, Republican Sen. Katie Britt of Alabama blasted him for flouting the Constitution by improperly elevating acting Labor Secretary Julie Su to the line of succession.

“The Biden Administration continues to attempt to rule by unilateral decree rather than govern with the advice and consent of Congress,” Britt said.

The senator, an attorney who serves on the Senate Rules Committee, pointed out that Su is a temporary department head who hasn’t been confirmed by the Senate.

Su “doesn’t even have adequate support from members of her own party in the Senate to be confirmed as Secretary of Labor,” Britt wrote.

She torched the Biden administration for “seemingly asserting both that it can freely ignore the will of the Senate by keeping Ms. Su in place indefinitely as Acting Secretary, and that Ms. Su could instantaneously ascend from her current role to serve as President of the United States.”

The senator underscored that a Cabinet member is eligible to assume the presidency “only if they are an officer ‘appointed, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate.'”

Did I read correctly that she has never been confirmed to her/their position? Kinda would take her out of the line.

Perhaps China doesn’t really understand how this works.

When they start talking about cabinet heads being in the line of succession it starts to sound like the Daily Mail UK describing the cousins of William and Harry.

The line of succession has never gone past the VP in usage. Always a first time but it would require very unusual circumstances.

Yeah it seems the line is succession angle is a bit of a stretch. A lot of crazy stuff would have to happen to get all the way to this position becoming POTUS.

As weird as it might sound, Trump should emulate Biden here.

Trump 1.0 appointed too many DC insiders. Some say this was done to get easy Senate confirmation. And we all know how that turned out.

Trump 2.0 should appoint only solid and loyal individuals. If that means they end up as just acting secretaries, so be it.

Secretary of the Treasury
Secretary of Defense
Attorney General
Secretary of the Interior
Secretary of Agriculture

So no one has objected in any material way to the seating of Alphonza Butler even though she doesn’t reside in California.

It’s a clear Constitutional requirement. Playing word games is how they justify it: the Senator has to be a resident “when elected’. Well, she wasn’t elected! She was appointed! And of course they point out that this ambiguity was intentional from the Framers: they intentionally did it this way!

Mm hmm. Not one Senator had ever been seated this way. But there she was! Kamala the Foreigner swearing her in! Not a pubby in sight!

Forget the Constitution. It’s a dead letter. A bunch of non-Americans have stomped it and now do whatever is politically expedient for themselves. The so-called opposition is AWOL.
