As residents arrived at New Life Community Church for a “public safety town hall” on Monday, they were invited downstairs to meet with “local leaders.”
“It was all very political in defense of [Mayor Brandon] Johnson’s agenda, as I kinda expected."
“It took forever because it was as if they were trying to convince the crowd that alternatives to policing are the solution to the crime wave,” recalled the attendee.
“They also had the police wait 30 minutes before making their introductions. It was as if there wasn’t a violent crime wave sweeping many parts of the city, and it was just another Monday night. I was shocked.”
The fireworks began when the organizers announced they would only be fielding questions submitted in advance by people who registered to attend.
“That set off many people in the crowd who began questioning, ‘Is this a town hall if we cannot ask questions? ‘Great, so you’re only going to answer questions that you cherry-picked?'”
The pre-selected questions were all “softballs." "What can the community do to prevent violence? What investments in the community are needed to prevent violence?”
“I am fairly progressive on many issues, but this group was so far out there, it was infuriating.
“Everyone showed complete respect for all the organizations trying to prevent violence but kept saying, ‘That is a long-term solution; prevent the next generation of criminals from turning to crime. We are being robbed left and right, all hours of the day.'”
“During the event, staff were going up and down the aisle, handing out flyers. ‘What is being done right now to prevent violence, I kid you not, the first two things were full implementation of the SAFE-T Act and helping push the mayor’s investment in underserved communities. I have never seen anything like it.”

In search of solutions, they find that the bozo they elected mayor has no answers other than coddling the criminals and doubling down on failed policies that do not deter crime.

When the first one speaks out against the mayor, the one in the back joins in, and then the two on the side.
Makes it look like the whole crowd is against him.
I am all for Leftists and Liberals getting mugged.

There is no “solution” for the citizens. The solution is right in front of their eyes. The Stasi have completed their control of the city.
IOW, what is considered a bug by the users, is a feature according to the creators. Every single city where this overrun is occurring is undergoing a transition from a law-based system to one of anarchy until the Federal government steps in with draconian oversight.
They are not there yet, but it is coming. Federal polizei with uberwachen on every corner and in every building and every place.

What a stupid question--it's been asked at every one of these blacks-vote-blue city 'community meetings' since LBJ's trillion dollar great society program was enacted.
Additionally, if Leftists and Liberals get mugged, and truly see the error of their ways, I believe we should find a way to welcome them to “our side” if the conversion appears to be a significant one.
People like David Horowitz are the best examples of these types.
David Horowitz was as far over to the “other side” as an American could go back in the late Sixties and early Seventies (serving as a lawyer for the Black Panthers) until a white woman who worked in administrative duties for that execrable racist organization was brutally raped and murdered by the Black Panthers theselves because it was thought “she knew too much” and was perceived to be dangerous to the Black Panthers.
She wasn’t a danger, but they thought she was, so they arranged to have her raped and murdered. Their racist suspicions sealed her fate.
But David Horowitz knew better, he knew it in his heart and knew they had her murdered, given his conversations with them about this subject, and the way they answered him. (This is discussed in his excellent book “Radical Son”)
It may take things like that to convert enough of these people to make a difference. But I think we need to be prepared to accept them if their conversion is heartfelt and significant, as it was for David Horowitz.
Some people here don’t want to hear that, and they are right that there is a risk some of these people won’t really have a meaningful change of mind, that they would, like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, attempt to turn Conservatives into Leftists or Liberals.
But I think it is a risk we must take at some point, or this country will be fully lost. We might well be lost anyway, but I am not yet ready to give up.
I find it interesting that sanctuary cities controlled by Democrat mayors seem to have the most crime. I understand why in CA because their opinion is that it's okay to steal as long as it's less than $1000. Really? With Bidenomics, I guess it will be okay to steal $1130 next year. Until they turn up police actions, things are just going to get worse. Alas, Liberals won't admit that the "alternatives to policing" aren't working. But, those are the facts...and you know how Liberals hate facts.

The vote was rigged by the public employee unions.
These meetings are being held to undercut real, genuine meetings od committees of safety, the historical go to for US citizens when their communities become unsafe and crime ridden.
There needs to be real meetings to form neighborhood watchers who are armed and ready to shoot if necessary.Thats one among many rerasons why we have a 2nd amendment.
These MArxists know how t9o stand in the way of that necessity and deoralize the citizenry with thesebogus meetings.
I have only attended school meetings and some involving the Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED, a perfect acronym), and have encountered these methods to control we peasants at most of those meetings.
It must be this is being taught in universities as a way to bamboozle us.
Things must get a lot worse before they will ever get better. Decades of automatically voting for democrats must be stopped. Probably not until after they die off, and then only if the new generations can see the need for change.
The PRIMARY questions that should be asked at any public forum regarding the current rampant criminality are why does America have such a long-running black crime problem, and what does the “black community” plan to do to get these people to stop acting like uncivilized savages? If anyone actually cares about stopping the rampant violent crime, THOSE are the questions that have to be addressed. The finger needs to be pointed squarely at leftist politicians and so-called “black leaders”, and they must be held to account to explain the actions of those who for so long they have falsely portrayed as victims of imaginary “systemic racism.” Time to grow up and take responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming everyone else for them.
