The U.S. Marshals Service apprehended 4,455 violent fugitives during the latest phase of Operation North Star III (ONS III), a high-impact fugitive apprehension initiative.
ONS III targeted violent offenders in 20 cities and cleared 2,818 violent warrants, including homicide, forcible sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, and firearms violations. Investigators also seized 555 firearms, more than $1 million in US currency, and 85 kilograms of illegal narcotics during this three-month enforcement effort.
“Together with our law enforcement partners across the country, the Justice Department is zeroing in on the violent fugitives responsible for the greatest crime in our communities. The U.S. Marshals Service conducted Operation North Star III to target the most violent criminals, and together with state and local law enforcement arrested over 4,400 fugitives across 20 cities in just three months,” said Attorney General Merrick Garland, according to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice.
“ONS is an evidence-based strategy that targets the drivers of violence in our communities,” said U.S. Marshals Service Director Ronald Davis. “ONS is part of the Attorney General’s violent crime reduction strategy, and its success is based on community partnerships and collaboration with our local and state law enforcement partners. I want to thank the outstanding work of the women and men of the USMS and our partnering law enforcement agencies. Together with the community, these efforts have contributed to successful violence reduction efforts in ONS cities.”
This is the third ONS enforcement action since July 2022.

How many were here illegally? How many of those were re-released?
Why don’t they launch “Operation Southern Border III (OSB III)”?
“The U.S. Marshals Service apprehended 4,455 violent fugitives during the latest phase of Operation North Star III “
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Meanwhile, 10x that number of future fugitives samba-ed across the border in the last month, and were given a large goodie bag of benefits, courtesy of our current administration in Washington.
D.C. Decades ago-the eve of the Super Bowl. Newspapers published a list of parole violators saying they had won tickets to the super bowl. They showed up at a hotel, sat down in a room and on cue played Bobby Fuller 4’s “I fought the Law”. All the cops stood up and handcuffed those that were sitting down.
The U.S. Marshals Service is a force for good. They're going after criminals. Real criminals. The DOJ on the other hand, is NOT after child rapists, murderers and thugs - the DOJ is after white men who might 'hurt the feelings' of black democrats by saying something that might makes them feel triggered.
The reason fake hate crimes are on the rise is the DOJ encourages hated and lies about one racial group. White citizens.
Same things that happened to blacks in the 50's and 60's (no group stays 'the victim' forever.. sometimes a victim today becomes the bully of tomorrow) The DOJ stands with criminals and against the law biding - stands with people who want to compromise the vote rather than those calling for more security for the vote. They are NOT protecting the black community with their lies - they're hurting them. Fighting yesterday's battles. Today we all want to live in safe and sane communities and the DOJ needs to stop thinking of criminals as the downtrodden. Black citizens don't want criminal violence in their communities either.
That was my question as well.
I also wonder what their definition of “firearms violations” is and whether among those nabbed are being subjected to lawfare against the right.
We can make no assumptions other than what we know of their motivations, past actions and that we can’t take a word which comes out of this administration at face value.
The U.S. Marshals kick ass. G. Washington knew what he was doing, whether he had slaves or not, when he created that organization.
No need for the FBI.
FBI should be complete disbanded, its employees forever barred from any government service of any kind.
A new agency, strictly investigative with absolutely zero enforcement or arrest powers, should be stood up to assist State peace officers with investigating interstate crimes.
Yep. Shut it down!
