Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has slipped to fifth place in the New Hampshire primary according to a new poll. Former President Trump continues to dominate the Republican field in The Granite State, garnering just shy of 40 percent of the vote.

Ohio businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, who has spent the last two months campaigning heavily in New Hampshire, is in second place with 13 percent. Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley is in third with 12 percent, followed by Chris Christie with 11 percent. Gov. DeSantis has dropped 13 points since since the last CNN/University of New Hampshire survey and rounds out the top five candidates with just 10 percent.

2024 New Hampshire GOP Primary

Trump 39% (+2)
Ramaswamy 13% (+8)
Haley 12% (+7)
Christie 11% (+5)
DeSantis 10% (-13)
Scott 6% (-2)
Pence 2% (+1)
Burgum 1% (-5)
Hurd 1% (=)

The sinking poll numbers come as another blow to DeSantis’s presidential ambitions. Earlier this week, billionaire mega-donor Ken Griffin announced he would be sitting out the rest of the primary cycle despite being an early financial backer for the DeSantis campaign. Griffin blasted the Florida Governor’s political operation, stating: “It’s not clear to me what voter base he is intending to appeal to.”

On Monday, former President Trump announced that he has twice as many signed Iowa caucus pledge cards as the DeSantis campaign despite being outspent 5-to-1 in the state. The Iowa caucuses are considered a must win for Ron DeSantis, though the governor has consistently polled in a distant second to Trump.

The National Pulse previous reported that, speaking before of a packed and energized audience in Dubuque, Iowa today, Trump announced a “full Fentanyl blockade” of U.S territorial waters. The former President added that, “Biden’s horror show at the southern border ends at high noon on Inauguration Day, 2025.”

All he had to do was support MAGA in 2024 and 2028 was his.

But noOOooOOooo. He did what Tokyo Rove told him to do.

Running behind Chris Christie...

That must be really embarrassing since Christie is too fat to run...

He's a RINO pretending to be a conservative. It's better that he ran against Trump, otherwise we would have been fooled in 2028 by the seemingly conservative stands he has taken in FL. /sarc

Rove is about as untrustworthy as anyone can get.(See Texas AG Paxton lawfare hit orchestrated and abetted by same weasel).

It is too bad the Florida Governor hooked up with that traitorous piece of feces. he, the gov, could have had a pretty good run in 28.

Thirdly, I would not be surprised to learn Rove was in it to destroy the Governor's ambitions while still in the early phases, for later threat to the rat party.

They always say “We like where we are in the polls”.

Well, I like where he is in this poll!

BDR (Before DeSantis was Running): “Why do you keep harping on DeSantis, he’s not even running?”

DA (DeSantis Announces): “DeSantis will whip Trump’s Butt.”

DA+4 Months: “Why do you keep harping on DeSantis, he’s not even a factor?”

The town next door to mine in southern NH is having a Republican get together at one of the local State of NH Reps house next month. They invited all the POTUS candidates.

Vivek, Haley, Christy have all confirmed they will appear. So had Desantis. Then his campaign called this week and said he was not going to be able to make it. They probably will be spending more time in IA.

That thought has crossed my mind more than once.

“It is too bad the Florida Governor hooked up with that traitorous piece of feces”

the question here, though, is before desantis hooked up with rove and company, whether desantis KNEW rove was a rino/bushite P.o.S. or whether desantis was ignorant of what rove and company was really all about ... either way, though it shows REALLY, REALLY, REALLY bad judgement ...

It’s the only move DeSantis can play. Without a win in Iowa, no nomination for Mr DeSantis.

Also, the 45th President is putting pressure on the kid in Iowa. Trump wants to end it early.

He's a bankrolled rat insider who tried to backstab Trump. And dare I say those who support DeSantos are pro rat posers.

In 2016, Trump energized and mobilized the Republican base like no candidate has in recent memory. He was the first Republican in years to actually go on offense. And he spoke openly about issues that had, up until then, been either ignored by Republicans or viewed by them as taboo. Trump did that, not DeSantis.

Trump built a new coalition by adding millions of blue-collar Americans who, in the past, voted for Democrats or didn’t vote at all. It was Trump who did that, not DeSantis.

Likewise, Trump moved the party in a new direction on issues like trade and foreign policy. He showed that there was no contradiction in supporting a strong military and being against foreign entanglements that served no national interest. It was Trump who did that, not DeSantis.

So when people say that DeSantis is the better man to lead this movement for the next four years because of the “amazing” job he did as Florida’s Governor, I wonder how they’re able to do so with a straight face.
