Miles of fencing and curtains have been put up alongside Front Street, one of Lahaina’s main highways, obstructing the view of ongoing activities.
“There seems to be a huge emphasis on ensuring that the media and anyone else can’t see what’s going on,” Cygnus reported in a recent video.
“There are miles and miles of this black fence going up that was not here before that is obscuring ground zero and making sure no one can see what’s going on inside of there from the road, no one can get in there, no one can take any pictures.”
Moreover, Cygnus said he was told to leave by National Guard members as he attempted to film the new black curtains from the side of the road, underscoring how authorities are keen on keeping the operation under wraps.
“Why would they do this if they have nothing to hide?” asked one X user.
News of the cordoned-off zones comes as questions linger over the hundreds of missing Lahaina residents, with numerous journalists reporting they’ve been told not to film, or fly drones in the area, and FEMA advising workers not to take photos or video.
The mayor of Maui, in the meantime, has instilled zero confidence in residents, instead threatening to shut down press briefings in response to questions over how many children are among the missing.
Meanwhile, disturbing reports have emerged that police set up blockades and trapped people from being able to escape to safety as the wildfires raged on August 8, further adding to the mystery of whether people died due to a natural disaster, or administrative murder.

I wonder if they shut down use of aerial drones as well.
I was thinking of the similarities between this and the obscuring of those windows and glass doors in Georgia for the 2020 "after hours" ballot count. Why, there was even a problem related to water back then, too. Hmm.
Thank you. That was horrible… we sure didn’t see that information on the news.
China is what China is, but from a safety and traffic management standpoint you don’t want drivers on one bridge rubbernecking the destruction. And they would. It’s human nature.
Governors put covid patients in nursing homes.
Killed thousands of people.

Just like after 9-11 the left wants everyone to not mention anything and move along so they can do their dirty business.

This guy spoke to their press. He stayed in the ocean to help people onto the coast guard boats.
He helped guide the boats in with a cell phone because if all the smoke.
I was impressed reading his stuff.
This is by far the worst tragedy in our country, imo.
What was it...800 children didn’t reregister for school?
Its huge and they are trying to cover it up.
A law intended to keep secrets from the peasants.
Can’t have the peasants gathering evedence against the ruling class.
BFL
$700 dollars per family ... $millions$ of dollars for a fence to hide the disaster.
Guaranteed if one of those parents that got paid started questioning all of this and took video footage, they would be threatened to stop or are already dead
They would have to threaten them because $700 dollars is not a bribe it’s nothing but a truly pathetic insult.
Political Junkie Too - I talked with a firefighter early on in the disaster. Governor Newsom is sending firefighters from California. The firefighter said that it was unlikely that firefighting equipment was being sent due to the enormous amount of equipment that would have to be flown in. He thinks this is more for body recovery.
They still cannot be trusted with anything !!!
They cannot come up with any excuse for blocking and news blackouts that I will believe EVER !!!
