This date is the 550th anniversary of (in)famous Wallachian dictator/vampire prototype Vlad III Tepes‘s destruction of the town of Amlas, impaling all its surviving citizens.

A bit unrelated, but the 1973 Jack Palance movie is my favourite Dracula movie.

Count Chocula killed more people than Dracula could ever dream of. Childhood obesity and all the resulting diseases should never be forgotten.

I was leaving Cedar Grove cemetery in Queens NY at dusk one day when off in one of the sections i spotted a single stone with the name DRACULE . Gave me a shiver seeing that thru the twilight.
