Hope DeSantis isn’t now imitating Trump — the grand master of name calling and personal attacks. Why can’t they just get together and publicly vow to stop this BS?
Insult the voting base. A winning strategy. đ
Is that why Trump can get more people out for a rally or protest than any other Republican politician?
It sounds more like DeSantis misspoke than he was trying to make a cogent point.
He broke the Reagan rule.
Like every other establishment puppet, he fails to realize Trump represents the base. The base doesn't blind follow him. He's earned our trust.
DeSantis is unfit for any office. He's in complete control of the GOP donors and establishment. And, that is totally unacceptable.
I’m not even on Truth Social...
Instead of bashing Trump, these folks should offer some real solutions that don’t involve surrendering to the democrats in the name of bipartisan.
It just makes sense to point out some things that Trump did, but explain how you might do it better.
There are a lot of people that like most of Trump’s pilicies, but not his personality. I’d be using an angle like that.
When people start to slam his base, it tells me they have already conceded to Trump, but will be happier to see Biden reelected than support Trump.
You log in here every day and repeatedly prove his point.
He’s putting all his eggs in one basket, betting that Trump will be disqualified from running in 2024.
False.
Folks should watch the video.
I will still be voting for President Trump.
What a Hillaryish comment by RDS.
It’s worth noting how DeSantis has an immediate, elaborate response to every question. He’s not responding naturally to the questions. There’s no getting around it. DeSantis is inauthentic, from his rehearsed answers to his rehearsed, over the top body language and hand gestures.
Well I thought that he was a great person and governor but with comments like that I am not so sure any longer.
This is not what he actually said. it’s Magadonian propaganda.
Deep State approved candidate Desantis, is showing everyone who he really is. đ

Former President Donald Trump posted his biggest lead yet over his rivals at 62 percent of likely Republican primary voters, according to a CBS News/YouGov poll published Sunday.
His top rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, has fallen farther back from earlier this summer, the poll showed, to 16 percent. The other candidates are in the single digits, with third runner up Vivek Ramaswamy at seven percent.
Likely GOP voters also overwhelmingly said at 91 percent that during the upcoming GOP primary debate, they wanted to hear the other candidates make the case for themselves, instead of against Trump.
The poll came before Trump decided to skip the debate in favor of an interview with Tucker Carlson. The poll was conducted August 16-18, among 2,061 adult residents, with a ±3.0 point margin of error overall, and ±5.7 points for likely Republican primary voters.
A whopping 77 percent Republican primary voters believe that the indictments in Georgia are politically motivated, and think that while Trump tried to stay in office, it was legal and constitutional and that Joe Biden did not win legitimately.
The poll showed that 73 percent of Trump voters said his legal fights are a reason for their support for him, among others.
Trump overwhelmingly beat the other primary candidates among likely GOP primary voters who say honesty is very important, with 61 percent choosing Trump as who is the most âhonest and trustworthy.â
Trump voters see Trump as more honest than friends and family, conservative media figures, and even religious leaders, the poll said.
A CBS News article summarizing the poll said among those considering Trump, he ââchecks the boxesâ across all the ways voters generally make choices.â It added:
His track record shows that those considering him almost all think things were better in the country under his presidency.

I'll bet nobody in my extended family even knows what a "listless vessel" is. I had to Google it -- and I'm still not sure what DeSantis meant because the words are not really in the American vocabulary.
A big part of leading any large organization is communicating effectively with people at all levels -- not just the brainy managers and technicians, but also the Joe Six-Packs and Jill Wine-Coolers who are crucial to any human enterprise --large or small.
Ron was certainly born with a silver spoon in his mouth, in the sense that he's intelligent, has degrees from Yale and Haaaa...vard, and knows the language of attorneys.
But Ron lacks the "common touch" -- kind of surprising actually when you realize Ron's a politician. And casually calling MAGA voters "listless vessels" is an indicator of how out of touch he is.
His aloofness from We the People is one reason he draws only a couple dozen people to his events in Iowa. Meanwhile Trump easily fills big arenas with supporters.
Another factor working against DeSantis is his lack of national name-recognition. Sure, FReepers know something about DeSantis because we follow politics. But frankly, across Rush's "fruited plain" he's not well-known.
Yet, before Trump ran for President, he was already a widely known celebrity and businessman. And he grew the Trump Organization into a world-recognized brand in hotels, golf, media, and other ventures.
But Ron has never really had any private business experience either. After college, he spent a few years as a Navy JAG Corps officer and a year after leaving, he ran for Congress. My guess is he was being groomed by the Donor class to become another Mitt Romney.
So these are a few reasons to explain why the Ron DeSantis brand is failing to catch fire.
