Yep, so they dig in and let Ukraine destroy themselves trying to dig them out. Ukraine can’t win militarily. They need NATO (meaning us and maybe a token European force) to go in and do it for them.

Has anyone stopped to think that Russia (and China) are enjoying watching the U.S. bankrupt itself by sending billions of dollars, and military equipment to a war that Ukraine will never win? Hitler thought he could defeat Russia, but we all know how that ended up. Germany became dependent on Russia for the oil they had invaded Russia for in 1941.

Russia and China have been strange bedfellows for decades, We were fighting proxy wars with them in Korea. And it hasn't ended since.

You're clueless. The Russians are grinding Ukrainian into dust. The Ukrainians are sending their entire army into the meat grinder. Once the Ukrainian military is completely depleted, the Russians will be able to go on offensive with little resistance.

The Russians NEVER wanted to take the entire country, however. All they wanted to do was liberate the ethnic Russian part of the country, build a land bridge from Crimea to mainland Russia and take control of the Black Sea, which already mostly been accomplished.
