The Maui fires proves once again what happens when you have a Communist dictatorship in charge of your forests. This happened just like in Oregon from the mismanagement of the forests by a bunch of no cut radicals who are actually killing the forests in the name of saving it. This island used to be managed properly by the pineapple growers and other farmers who were regulated off the island for so called environmental concerns which then the habitat became overgrown making a fire hazard waiting for a spark to create an inferno.
The terror and devastation of being on a small island must have been horrific as you had tiny roads with nowhere to escape as the flames cut off any path to safety. Unless you had an escape to the ocean there would be nowhere to hide, and the near hundred-mile winds would feed the fires while speeding them as well as sending sparks in front of you making any escape a hard plan to move forward while fires overcame them and over a hundred were burned to death thanks to the complete mismanagement of their land.
Oregon is the perfect example of the earth’s worship destroying the environment. Oregon is the outback of America. There are over 200,000 square miles in the state with only four million people and about 100,000 square miles of forests. The forests would cover a state of Ohio completely with very few roads for the people on the East side of the country. This is the massiveness of one of the largest forests on the planet and certainly one of the most valuable ones for housing.
Until 1965 the Oregon forests provided jobs for over a million people while timber receipts paid the entire bill for education for both K-12 and colleges. The workers never had to pay the massive expenses for those two institutions while the state stood at the top of nation in education back when they did educate the children rather than indoctrinate them into their Marxist Centralized Utopia.
The Marxist prior to the sixties found they could use fake science to promote their agenda of destroying Capitalism by using the endangered species act to eliminate certain industries the same as they are today. They first used it by instituting Darwinism in the classroom and eliminating God as the Creator. They used the term science to bludgeon God as the Creator of the eart and nature opening the door to massive abuse of the scientific theory which investigates God’s Creation rather than an effort to prove there is no God. Since then, very little has progressed in understanding life or nature’s miracles.
Once science took over for God and became an all-powerful being it then became populated by radical political activists whose primary goal was to stop America and capitalism from existing. The first industry they went after was tobacco making claims of massive cancer causing and declaring secondhand smoke a killer when their numbers were miniscule at best and closed down a worldwide industry without any real proof whether it did or did not. Many smokers lived long and industrious lives and others like my father died early of emphysema which likely came from the cigarettes, but with science’s track record it was most likely exaggerated to promote their agenda.
After that victory they repeated it over and over again destroying industries they considered strategic to the advancement of America such as the car, nuclear energy, forestry, fishing, cattle, and on and on. In 1965 they went after the lumber industry and declared the Spotted Owl an endangered species. The activist scientist manipulated the population numbers and locations to declare a minor species endangered by the lumber industry when in reality was being killed by Horned Owls who are very aggressive and territorial as they migrated from the upper Midwest.
The scientist knew this yet reported the lumber industry was killing the cute little owl and the hug the trees campaign began. The mediots and radical activist groups like Greenpeace pushed and agenda to shut down the evil loggers and shut down a multi-billion-dollar industry and making the once thriving rural areas of Oregon, California, and Washington into ghost towns as the jobs moved to the Southeast.
This has been repeated time and again over industry after industry and now their shining kill shot with Global Warming. They cannot say Global Warming since there is very little proof of it, so the High Priests of their religion changed the name to Climate Change which sounds a lot like Weather, but everyone has been brainwashed to know it means GW.
They use this as a catchall to force businesses to close since they cannot possibly stand up to all the regulations and taxation attached to Global Warming. The Spotted Owl was their first bludgeon to destroy the lumber industry driving up housing prices radically especially in the West and destroying the forests.
Without the thinning and harvesting of older weaker trees as well as thinning and spacing of young trees the forests choke themselves out and die. Now there are huge swaths of dead timber and dying aggressive trees such as lodgepole pine making for wood piles waiting to burn and burn they do.
Just like Maui massive fires over 500 sq miles strong roar through the forests killing everything in its path. They burn like blast furnaces sterilizing the ground, so nothing grows in it for decades as the fragile forest ground is scorched of its nutrients. Massive tons of pollutants of all kinds are poured into the air as people are forced to breathe carcinogens for weeks if not months at a time. All in the name of saving Mother Earth and making Starbuck moms get a Virtue Tingle.
This is what was done to Maui and why over a hundred people are dead this morning. Rather than address the lack of forest management the Communists will cry Global Warming and make the bad environment worse rather than solving it with aggressive forest stewardship and put an end to these deadly blazes.

There is an another effect of massive forest fires, generally not reported.
The forest fires change the chemistry of the soil, which make it very susceptible to erosion. It takes decades to recover the chemistry.
So the soil erodes and often there is no soil left.
It causes sometimes devastating landslides and more destruction.
Remember acid rain? That was proved to be a hoax as well. I was touring Arcadia national forest with a group when a park ranger blamed acid rain for endangering the forest. I raised my hand. He called on me. I said there is no such thing as acid rain. I happened to be able to reference the debunking study. He looked stunned as these hoaxes live forever if they go unchallenged.
Fortunately for us, the notices de-escalated to no evac. It was definitely a wake-up call with respect to a bug out plan.

Bump! The history of forest oversight/management by the left has been one holocaust after another. Millions of trees obliterated, untold hundreds of thousands of forest creatures barbecued live, hundreds of human lives lost, thousands of homes burned and lives negatively affected forever. An educated society would remove these people from forest oversight/management and imprison them for decades for their malfeasance.
Several examples of incompetence. Police blocked cars from leaving ahead of the flames. No alarm siren, they didn’t want people to run toward the fire, they said… And a dispute about water meant the water to the fire hoses failed. Weird.

I am not looking for a fight I was looking for you to back up your statement. I often read your Brays because they are interesting. I was surprised when you wrote:

I thought that was a very odd statement because clearly many forest live without man taking care of them. I have a home and live winter and summer in a jungle of central america and on the 80 acres I live on no one clears them and they live just fine. I have lived in Northern California and spent a lot of times in the Redwoods, some are 100s and sometimes a thousand years old. No one cleared them until the San Francisco earthquake and they did just fine. I thought it was a very odd statement.

You are comparing apples to oranges. These forests are mostly manmade which were planted decades ago and need constant management. Without constant thinning and harvesting you will not have healthy forests. Your forests are not our forests.
