THe national review is full of Rich men north of richmond. Really loaded up with people who have not really done a thing since 2001, laying back on post 911 spending as if the DC GOP was the victor of the decade.
I have found the majority of the GOP in DC to be way to comfortable. The next “insurrection” they are going to be the target. In 2024 they all need to be primaried and need to be in town halls every week for six months. A good number of them will bounce back to what they campaigned on, and a few will not.
Good article
In 1979, Median real weekly wages for men were 408. Now, they are 391. AND THIS IS BEFORE TAXES.

The Ruling Class vs. the Working Class
A great song in the tradition of Dylan - calling out the Man, drinking my wine!
Rich men north of Richmond dont play with thier money they play with ours. And they do it recklessly because they can get more from us anytime they want.
Wow, NR turning against the Reagan legacy overturning the WFB legacy.
Which is nice.
Excellent article.
I just heard ‘Oliver Anthony’s brilliant song, Rich Men North of Richmond’ today.
I would compare the song to Hank Williams Jr’s A Country Boy can Survive and I think it is better than Jason Aldean’s Try this in a Small Town.
The production was not really comparable to either Jason Aldean’s or Hank Williams Jr.
I would sure like to hear a version of this done in studio with real professional sound.
Rich Lowry and Jonah Golberg are pedophile fags.
Williamson and David French are POS snobs pretending to be the every man. French lives 20 miles south of me (40 miles south of Nashville) but might as well live in DC or NY.
I’m surprised he hasn’t moved being surrounded by the “rural rubes” in Columbia.

Well worth the entire read. Thanks for posting. Thanks Don Suber.
The scenes in 1984 where the speaker ranting against Eurasia getting a note and without missing a beat switched to ranting against Eastasia was Orwell satirizing the British communists switching between loving fascism to hating it when Hitler betrayed Stalin. They pretended that 1939 to 1941 never existed.
It shouldn't be surprising since Mussolini was the editor of the Italian Socialist party newspaper before he left/was ejected for disagreeing with the party's pacifism in WW1 and formed the Fascist Party. Fascists and communists are jackals from the same evil litter, snapping at each other but largely indistinguishable to outsiders.
The white working class built the infrastructure, and died in the wars, that today allow Kristol (and the editors of National Review) to enjoy life in the Ivory Tower.
Not that Neocons like them feel any gratitude.
Very well written, Mr. Surber. NR is a failure and jealous of the success of a simple musician.

Well written article and nice disassembly of an elitist scumbag. Thanks for posting it. While I’d heard about this song, this is the first time I listened to it. It definitely captures and protests the plight of many Americans, right out of ‘60s. I hope he starts a trend.
