By now, everyone that’s paying attention has come to the same conclusion about the war in the Ukraine: Russian forces have the decisive upper hand, and if Kiev doesn’t sue for peace soon, the likelihood is that it will lose even more of its territory – may even cease do exist.
This is a hard truth for the Western apparatus, but it has steadily been gaining ground, as the hyped counteroffensive has not yielded any gains, and the military capabilities of NATO countries begin to get overextended with the looming possibility of conflict in Taiwan, in Korea, in Africa…
And so it happened that a top NATO advisor revealed a bit too much of what was in his mind, strayed from the official narrative, and was forced to dial down his comments and apologize.

This is so confusing. I read virtually every day, that Putin is becoming a vegetable and dying...all his generals have been killed, the Russian people are revolting, etc. etc. etc.
And now this from the UN.
And of course, we are sending another $200M to pad Zelensky’s bank account.
So confusing....
That is the year by year breakdown of deaths in the Donbas attributed to miliary operations
or if you just limit this to civilian deaths by mine-related incidents
Russia TOOK this land, but it came back 8 years later for more
What guarantee is there that Russia will not take what it controls now and come back later for more?
I hope Ukraine, a fake nation, is reunited with Mother Russia.
Would anyone on this forum tolerate These United States being told to trade land for peace?
Would anyone on this forum tolerate Israel being told to trade land for peace?
4) A year later, Russia invades again.
The problem with Referendums and Elections is that pesky voters cannot always be counted on to side with La Revolution
“What guarantee is there that Russia will not take what it controls now and come back later for more?”
Let them. Not our problem
If Russia is able to add territory through aggression endorsed by NATO, then Russia will be more aggressive and menacing and NATO will lose credibility. The best and most likely outcome is a ceasefire that freezes the conflict but keeps economic sanctions in place until a final peace deal.
The Russian speaking Ukrainians had declared themselves a separate state and were being attacked by the Azov Brigade before the Russians invaded (makes me think of Texas, Us, Mexican history).
there was never any doubt.
it’s time for this proxy war on russia to end.
just freeze the current front lines. No one will be happy but soldiers could stop dying.
here is how Biden and Putin got electeD and the Putinist referenda in
The people including military age are not fleeing Russia they are fleeing from Zelensky .....as they don’t want to be fed into a meat grinder.
Do you see the pattern? We suck at being the world’s cop because our leaders, both political and our woke generals don’t have an eff’n clue as to what they are doing. Meanwhile, armchair pissant generals like you are completely fine with spending my children and grandchildren into endless debt while concurrently losing.
And you are worried about an aggressive China invading Taiwan. What an eff’n joke. Your mindless support for Biden’s war in Ukraine is leaving our nation broke, our weapons and ammo depleted, our military’s recruitment an abject failure. In short we are weaker to fight real enemies like China because your moronic thinking and lack of logic. It’s people like you that are China’s best friend because you make America weak.
I don’t buy this. Why? I have relatives from East Central Ukraine that were pro-Yanukovich and did not agree with the Euromaiden Revolution.
> Do you think China is entitled to Formosa if they decide
> to invade?
Does China have a historical precedent for inclusion of Formosa in within its territorial boundaries?
Nikita Khrushchev, a Ukrainian, was First Secretary of the Communist Party in the Soviet Union in the 50s and 60s. He succeeded Josef Stalin as leader of the Soviet Union.
Khrushchev, in an act of prescient nationalism, ceded Crimea to the Ukraine in 1954.
Ukraine, for hundreds of years, was considered a part of the Russian Empire, but declared its independence in 1991.
This is only a small part of the backstory to this war.
That’s a separate question - the question to which I responded was whether Ukraine would do this.
Ukrainians will keep fighting even if the west stops sending aid - it would go into partisan fighting.
They know that the war is an existential one - Russia would swallow them and assimilate them if they don’t fight.
NATO should lose credibility snd should be disbanded.
After thr fall of USSR, it serves not purpose but to siphon US tax dollars
The Ukraine and its position, vis-à-vis Russia, reminds me of Texas as well.
France has a “historical precedent” to Louisiana. Russia has a “historical precedent” to parts of Alaska. Mexico has a “historical precedent” to parts of Texas. How would you feel about foreign invasions of any of those three states?
