A UChicago professor said "the public is more radicalized," and that "it’s really quite significant."
A new survey commissioned by the University of Chicago found that a stunning 30 million American adults say they believe the use of violence is okay if that is what it takes to stop former President Trump from assuming the White House once again.
The study found that 11.6 percent of US adults agree that a “use of force” is permissible to “Prevent Donald Trump from becoming president.” This amounts to around 30 million people. A total of 3,543 US adults were polled for the survey in June 2023, with a reported margin of error of two to three percentage points.
University of Chicago professor Robert Pape, who led the research, said that while he believes recent indictments against former President Trump have created “radicalization,” there is also “growing anger and radicalization on the left as well.”
“The public is more radicalized than it was in April and it’s really quite significant,” said Pape. “We’ve been tracking this quite a while, and this is a really big bump.”

I believe many on the left feel the same way about Trump. Maybe not so much that he’s Hitler2 (though some obviously think so), but in a narcissistic “how will history view ME if I don’t do something about the bad orange man?’ Lacking a time machine, the 2020-equivalent question was "would you steal the election by whatever means, to remove Trump from office? Because, ya know, he's Hitler or something like that."
We are seeing their "yes" right now.
I bet most Bidet supporters sure as heck see lots of problems and believe that the election was fraudulent, and it is very likely that Trump won by a mile. But, because Orange Man Bad, these Guardians of Civilization grip onto whatever half-baked rationale for the "legitimacy" of the results, to keep the inquiry into irregularities stopped. Then, they crank up the volume to 11 on these Jan 6 "hearings", because they feel morally justified.
2020 was a de facto going back in time to kill Hitler. Clarence Thomas got it right, when he wrote about the protests (threats?) from the Roe leak: "We are becoming addicted to wanting particular outcomes, not living with the outcomes we don't like."

Excellent summary. That is exactly how they frame it in their heads. They aren’t responding to actualities but to phantoms that have been planted in their minds.
Buckle in folks. We are going to have a daily barrage of crap about PDJT over the next several months. They are absolutely scared shitless over the possibility of him being re-elected again. They are going to do everything in their power to prevent that from happening. It’s going to get really ugly.
