At this point, why not bypass the legal niceties and just put Trump in jail?
Hot Air ^ | 2 Aug 2023 | David Strom

The Biden Administration has clearly given up on the idea that the federal government exists to do anything but satisfy Joe Biden’s whims.

So why not get it over with? Throw Donald Trump in jail without due process, construct reeducation camps, and rename the FBI the Stasi?

In less than 1 week the administration has shredded the already tattered reputation of the Justice Department.

- Last Wednesday a US Attorney tried to convince a judge to give what amounted to a plenary pardon to Hunter Biden for all crimes he had committed in the past.
- On Thursday Donald Trump was indicted yet again.

- Then Sam Bankman-Fried was let off the hook for funneling $90 million of stolen funds into the pockets of Democrats.

- Then the Justice Department demanded a judge jail a whistleblower who has revealed that Joe Biden was deeply involved in Hunter Biden’s influence peddling.

- Then the FBI reveals it contracted illegally with a spyware firm…

- And on Tuesday Donald Trump got indicted yet again.

...

Can you tell I am angry? Furious? Experiencing incandescent rage?

The CIA not doubt goads many people into things and get lucky from time to time when one of their subjects does something. Oswald was one of those the CIA prodded and he did it. The CIA doesn’t always give explicit instructions, just gaslighting: “Gosh, that JFK needs to go! Someone should be a hero and do something! Ya know, his motorcade doesn’t always have a protective bubble on it, and it travels REAL slow too.”

No, I don’t, but Americans will not by the thousands be unable to buy food. Food will be rationed, though, by one’s ability to use the digibucks. Food will become scarce anyway because the supply system will work less and less well and much of the best farmland is already being taken out of production all over the world. We will have to find ways to travel other than by foot or bicycle and non electronic means of communication and it will be hard or impossible to coordinate opposition. The only way I can see to ameliorate the coming total state is by the states like Florida and Texas and much of the midwest walling off from the DC regime and developing quickly their own effective military forces outside of the National Guard though some states may be able to twist control of the NG out of the hands of the Regime. I hope but am not confident that certain states are already stockpiling ammo and weaponry in distributed sites. If/when it comes to all that, the arms and ammo that much of he population possesses will go into the mix but at least at first it will not be standardized.

“If perchance the SWATS do become a major operation “

Don’t forget, a LARGE county Sheriff’s office is no more than 400 uniformed officers. That’s it. They rely on overwhelming force against individuals and bravado to do their jobs, but if society goes nuts then they know (I’ve worked with them, I know) they will be overwhelmed quickly and will simply fall back and even disband.

I think long before that all happens some of the States will isolate and provide security to the people. “We, the Great State of Florida, declare the federal government to be in a State of insurrection. To that end, we States hold together as a union and issue the following proclamations against federal activities within our States...”

“In order to prove any of the charges against DJT, the entire 2020 election will have to be litigated state by state.”

There were only 6 key counties involved in the 2020 election overthrow. They will only need to focus on those 6 counties.

DeSantis is the stronger candidate than Trump.

And yet, the "stronger candidate" can't beat Trump. In fact, he can't come within 30 points of Trump.

Go figure.

True. DJT has been labeled Hitler like by the deep state and the media. Claus von Stauffenberg has became a hero for what he attempted to do.

A leftist nutcase could rationalize doing harm to DJT because they have been convinced by years of propaganda by the state and the media that Trump must be destroyed by any means.

Before the end of this, they will go full banana republic and jail Trump and suspend elections.

That's when we show what we are made of.

You have a hopeful perspective. I hope you’re right.

DeSantis will not win Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, or Wisconsin.

DeSantis may win Arizona, Georgia and Wisconsin.

And I'll have to add Nevada to the list.

“You have a hopeful perspective.”

As you know, “Hope” is not much of a plan, so I do have my contingencies. Moving to Florida two years ago was all part of the grand plan.

But the Sheriff could deputize all legal gun owners in a county if it hit the fan.

Not really, that simply isn’t practical. No Sheriff could keep control of such an disorganized mess. It would lead to violent acts by those that think the deputizing gives them powers and it would lead to others simply killing them. I’ve been in those conversations and know that no professional law enforcement officer thinks deputizing is a good thing. In a small man-hunt, maybe, but in a societal breakdown, no way.

Well, DeSantis has relatives in western Pennsylvania where his grandfather worked in a steel mill. Plus, he’s of Italian descent and is a Catholic. That could win him some votes in Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities which are heavily Southern European ethnic and Catholic. Think of the movie, “Deer Hunter.” That movie portrayed the kind of voters DeSantis could win. He needs to emphasize his blue-collar roots and the fact that he worked his way through college. He didn’t have a daddy giving him $1 million to get him started.

I suggest that, voter fraud aside, DeSantis has a good chance in Pennsylvania. Biden, if he is the nominee, is despised here. I see guys driving pickup trucks with “F—K” Joe Biden flags displayed in the bed. Ditto for bumper stickers and signs posted in yards. Anecdotal maybe, but that’s the mood I’m detecting.

The states probably won’t make such a declaration, at least at first. They will start refusing federal money then cutting off other financial connections with the major banks and other fed dominated entities and will institute State money which would have to be gold and silver specie or backed to avoid the Fed determination that state money is not usable. Gold is the explicitly only medium usable as money in the Constitution. The state money has already a beginning in a couple of states in that those states have directly made Gold o be official money in the state. Taat is not useful right now but it will be and the mechanism is already in place.

In Florida the Sheriffs’ departments in many counties are the closest thing we have to militia and may well function in that capacity when the realignment occurs. Constitutional Sheriffs is the organization of sheriffs who make certain commitments and exists in a number of states.

An interesting monetary history is that we didn’t even have standard federal currency un 1926. States and banks created their own until then.

Sure, but DeSantis did re-create the Florida State Guard. Sure, it has limited funding and not much activity, but I think it was just to start planning for the eventuality that Florida may have to stand on its own for a while.
