Earlier this year, the American Perspectives Survey collected data from a representative sample of more than 5,000 U.S. adults aged 18 and older. Here I’ll go through and share the results and some thoughts. Some of the findings are predictable. Other results are surprising.
The survey found that women care a lot more about height than men do.
56% of women say they would be less likely to date someone who is “much shorter” than they are, while only 32% of men say they would be less likely to date someone who is taller.
In other words, men are generally okay with dating someone who is taller than themselves but women really don’t want to date a guy who is shorter than them.
The report notes that “No change has altered the fabric of American life so profoundly as the decline of marriage.”
One reason for this is the rise of cohabitation. The number of Americans cohabitating with their romantic partner has more than doubled over the past three decades.
Interestingly, a recent survey found that men in cohabiting relationships are just as satisfied in their relationships as married men, but women in cohabiting relationships are much less satisfied than married women. Much of social progress was supposedly intended to benefit women and instead ended up benefiting men.
Perhaps this is one contributing factor to the paradox of declining female happiness.
Women used to report having higher well-being than men. Over the past several decades, though, this has reversed. Women’s self-reported happiness has plummeted. Today men report higher well-being than women.

“Love”
Young women do fall in love with their alpha males—before getting dumped...and then going through the stages of grief before repeating their stupid behavior a few more times...before becoming a man-hater—never realizing that their worst enemy is staring back at them in the mirror.
Many alpha males are or become Dark Triad—love is not of the traits.
“But women don’t want to date men who make less than they do.”
This gets back to the “short man” issue.
They think they don’t want to do that—but human perception can change if the man is viewed as a leader—a “big shot”.
Women want Chad or Tyrone. 666 - six feet tall, 6 pack and six figures. No wonder MGTOW. And it pisses them off.
There's also a glutton of corpulent hambeasts who have a very skewed view of their value in the dating scene. "Single mom looking for alpha male to treat me like the princess I am and support me and my child financially in the lifestyle we deserve. Must be over 6' tall, physically fit, and earn $500k a year. My baby comes first!"

Just a little more detail on “short man” concept.
Women say they want tall, wealthy handsome men.
By that logic they will be even more impressed by the guy that those tall wealthy handsome men look up to....
The leader.
The leader can be the drug dealer at the party, the artist or writer that is admired in the area, the owner of the coolest club in town etc etc etc.
One movie that portrayed this very well was Goodfellas. The “leader” was this young man who never had to wait in line at clubs because he had “respect” because he was part of “the family”.
There are many variations on this theme—and men who “get it” can easily overcome a wide range of “impossibles”.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the 6th floor and the Sign reads: Floor 6 - You are visitor 71,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that you are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.
To avoid gender bias charges, the store’s owner opened a Wife Store just across the street.
The 1st first floor has wives that love sex.
The 2nd floor has wives that love sex and have money.
The 3rd through 6th floors have never been visited....
Shacking up is not “social progress.”
Yeah—the leader is the “alpha male” but in modern society the criteria can be very complex as to who qualifies.
It depends on the exact details of the environment or social circle.
Men who learn how to game those details will do just fine—those who cannot master them and are not 6-6-6 are going to have a tough go.
I’m now 73, fat, and married. Landed a great wife, raised two giant young men. A late bloomer, I suppose.
Hypergamy is the evolved female instinct to desire male sex partners of a higher socio-economic class, income level, and/or resource potential.
I think that instinct developed at least 200,000 years ago.
Easy to spot them in the Black Community. Usually they tend to be drug dealers (but not always).
If you go to Hollywood, Leonardo DiCaprio is an example of an alpha male. Once his girlfriend turns 25, he dumps her.

There is such thing as a pre nup. You could get one. If you are worried about your money.
But most women I have known have contributed tremendously. Their entire young lives and most of their middle age. It is their education and “career” that usually gets sidelined or set aside (willingly) in order to procreate, raise children as opposed to offspring that get boarded like pets, keep the household running which is a huge operation to do well. They are the ones who get up in the middle of the night, keep all the appointments, make the lunches, keep things clean and functioning, and devote themselves to building their husband’s career (which is in everyone’s best interest). A wife at home SAVES so much money, if they are managing decently! The childcare alone! Assuming you wanted the children. . . and They keep relationships and social matrices solid, building in the community and the larger family. They find the best prices, they cook at home, they do the laundry at home - I mean one can go on and on. Priceless. Certainly just as valuable as you.
So like once she is 40 or 50 and you are done with her (she no doubt did not hit every mark, nor did you), what is she supposed to do? Leave with the clothes on her back. Because the paycheck is in your name?
Now, there’s the opposite. A ho who snagged you in college because she thought you’d be a big earner, had one baby to keep you happy and was indifferent to the poor child, slept around, squandered money, and indulged herself. Ok. She gets 10%. That’s why we should have fair divorce laws.
But the vast majority of women I know have put all their best years into building strong intact families and, if dumped or so seriously abused through adultery or actual abuse that they need to leave, should absolutely get 50% and why would they not.

Men would rather date a woman who doesn’t thrill them, than stay home.
Women would rather stay home than go out with a guy who their peers would be unimpressed with.
