The following is an excerpt from The Vaccine Reaction.
New weight loss drug Ozempic has taken the world’s obesity epidemic by storm, but like most weight loss drugs that precede it over the past century, shedding extra pounds may not be the only outcome for consumers: Last month, the European Medicines Agency (EMA), a European Union (E.U.) agency that oversees and evaluates pharmaceutical medications, issued a safety signal, citing concerns about a possible link to thyroid cancer in people using glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists, including semaglutide, which are sold under brand names like Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro.
In April, the agency required drug makers who manufacture semaglutide, which include Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, AstraZeneca, and Sanofi, to provide supplemental documentation on the drug by July 23, 2023.
Prompting the regulation was a February 2023 study that found that people using GLP-1 receptor agonists for one to three years may have an increased risk of all types of thyroid cancers.

The slow killing of Americans continues. Beware of “safe and effective” cure-alls.
I do this weird thing, I eat salads and exercise.
It’s all about moderation. Taking a limited time prescription that can help you get ahead of your weight loss, in conjunction with lifestyle and dietary adjustments is probably a benefit. If you lose a few pounds, your diabetes can be made more manageable.
Some people need the extra-help because they spent a lifetime of stupidity and gained more weight than they can possibly lose just by living healthy.
The only way you are going see an increase of thyroid cancer is amongst the population that decides that they should spend their lives on it.
I don’t think you’ll see any increases amongst those who use it periodically to lose a few pounds at a time and take a break from using it.
And of course eating better is just so…..annoying
Eat real food. Most of the American diet is engineered, processed FrankenFood.
Is this the one all of the Hollyweirdos are taking?
Hmmm....
Cut out refined carbs, sugar, add more veggies and nuts to your diet, and get out and get moving.
For most people, that will work just fine.
I could’ve predicted this.
Losing weight doesn’t come that easy, without paying a price.
Oh, gee: What would the human race do without drugs like Ozempic?
/s
how about liraglutide as an alternative?
Ozempic, the most commonly known semaglutide shot, is a weekly injection approved by the FDA for diabetes treatment. The FDA has not approved Ozempic for weight loss, so there are no eligibility criteria to be used for such.
Semaglutide belongs to a class of medications known as glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, or GLP-1 RAs. It mimics the GLP-1 hormone, released in the gut in response to eating.
One role of GLP-1 is to prompt the body to produce more insulin, which reduces blood sugar (glucose). For that reason, health care providers have used semaglutide for more than 15 years to treat Type 2 diabetes.
And there are some possible serious problems that are connected with the drug identified by the people that make it, Novo Nordisk:
Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
Vision changes
Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)
Kidney problems
Allergic reactions
Gallbladder problems
Thyroid tumors or cancer
Crap shoot.

The pharmaceutical industry loves expensive monopoly drugs that treat but do not cure. Ozempic is a dream come true. Not only does it not cure anything, it causes new chronic sales opportunities. In the end, the lawyers always win.

Your chances of getting hit by a meteorite are many times higher than getting thyroid cancer from Ozempic, but by all means cower in fear over it.
You are correct. But what’s even worse is Ms atkinson, the great purveyor of against anything with a needle doesn’t even get the right cancer. It’s multiple endocrine neoplasia of which thyroid is one of the endocrine glands with cancer. But this disease is even MORE rare than straight up thyroid cancer.
I take it for diabetes...which was its original purpose. There’s a warning pamphlet included with the pen which mentions thyroid cancer. I’m not particularly worried because I’m in regular contact with my doctors...all of whom are affiliated with one of the world’s most famous medical schools.
Just FYI...Ozempic is probably the most famous of several similar diabetes drugs that have been released in the last few years. It has as one of its “side effects” weight loss. But its original purpose was for treatment of diabetes.
I heard lots of Hollywood people are using it to lean out.
They could just take Clenbuterol…bovine asthma medicine.
Of course they could just eat healthy and exercise…
One of the issues with Ozempic is that it costs a fortune (a 1 month supply has a "sticker price" of about $1,000) and many insurance plans don't cover it for diabetes *or* weight loss. Luckily my plan covers it for diabetes with only a small co-pay.
The doctor that first prescribed it for me...who was a full Professor at Harvard Medical School...described it to me as "a miracle drug". I worked for 20+ years at a world famous hospital and never heard a physician or surgeon utter the word "miracle" even once. His words suggest to me that Ozempic does,in fact, represent a breakthrough in diabetes management.
And no...I don't work for the company that makes it...nor do I own any of their stock! ;-)
