Two armed and trained officers against one perp who is tiny. That dude can't be over 5' 4". Yet they couldn't get him on the ground or even hold him in place.
That dude who came and saved the day is just a security officer at a nearby club who heard the commotion. He came over and literally said, "I got him girls, I got him." I know the tweet mentions that the lady cops are "LGBT" so I can't help but wonder if he misgendered them when he called them "girls." The girls certainly didn't care, because they were too busy letting him completely take over the situation, even though he is not a police officer.
Watch again. Once the security guard enters the scene and says "I got him girls," the officers immediately become silent and allow him to start issuing commands to the perp even though he is not a cop. They even repeat his commands after he says them.
Why is this? Because they recognized a bigger, stronger, tougher, more dangerous human being than them just entered the scene on their side. The alpha, if you will. They immediately submitted to his superior physical competence in this situation because they knew it was their best chance of righting the ship that was sinking.
Women, whether "LGBT" or not, should not be beat cops or front-line police responders, especially in dangerous cities. It is too much of a risk for them and society at large. Change my mind.

I used to coach youth sports. I never liked co-ed sports but sometimes it was unavoidable. What was clear, however, was that by the time the kids reached 10years of age, the boys had grown bigger, stronger and faster. And, there was no point in the girls competing with the boys! The “Y” chromosome provides the aggression, plus the strength needed to deal with knuckle-heads on the street. Somebody told those girls they could be Policemen. They are doing little more than picking-up a paycheck. They’ll, virtually, never put themselves in a situation where they might risk death. Just check the statistics of police officer deaths. We gotta stop B.S.ing ourselves!
My sister in law is an RCMP Police Seargeant. She is 5 foot 6 inches. I guarantee she would easily have put this perp. down and cuffed him all alone, but then, she works our EVERY DAY and is built like a wrestler.
THese two NYC gals are “social workers.” They shoud not be trying to arrest anyone.Their lack of training and teamwork training shows.
Not surprised, totally agree. At least they didn’t just decide to shoot him. Possibly would have if the male security wasn’t there.

I have seen a guy hopped up on something throw three cops around like rag dolls. All four (perp and cops) were big guys. They finally took the perp down but was not easy. This was back when I was all of 13 years old so wouldn’t have been much help. Just stayed out of the way and then gave a statement to the cops. Asked how? The one cop said likely PCP. Never heard anything afterwards.
However as large as that security guard was and the way he moved, bet he could have handled it by himself. He was showing great restraint.
There's a role for them. They can be meter maids. Patrol touristy areas like Times Square. Detectives. Undercover cops as needed.
But otherwise, all the beat cops should be men. Same as highway patrol.
We'll just have some female cops get beaten up or killed. We're being stupid. But this is where we are heading.

Good point! The strong, quiet male voice conveyed to the little dude not to get too physical or the big guy was gonna put a hurt on him. He practically talked the guy into submission. Little fella wasn’t impressed by the chicks!
Recently a male LEO where I am received a commendation for basically rescuing a female LEO that was being beaten by a male shoplifter outside a walmart.
Of hexwouhave showed up the female cop would’ve undoubtedly ended up in ICU......or worse.
Just some physically demanding jobs females just aren’t cut out for.
Along with beat cop, fire rescue and prison guard comes to mind.
