Ibrahim al-Shanti - Ad Difa (Difa'a / Difae الدفاع⁩⁩) - 1930s

Ad Difa'a together with Falastin is considered the most prominent and important Arabic newspaper in the Land of Israel-"Palestine" at the time, and in a relatively short time the newspaper managed to reach a wider circulation than the older Falastin. In addition, Al-Difaa managed to attract a number of senior journalists, who wrote about internal Palestinian politics, pan-Arab and pan-Islamic politics as well as on a variety of social issues.

The Islamist Ibrahim al-Shanti, together with two other journalists, Sami al-Sarraj and Khair al-Din al-Zarkhli, left the newspaper al-Jama'a al-Islamiyya and in February 1934 founded a new newspaper called al-Dofa'a, when al-Shanti was the owner, it was the mouthpiece of the al-Istaqlal party, and in particular of the extreme wing. According to an Arab critic, it was founded with Nazi funds.

Articles were distinguished by a sharp anti-British tone and a tendency towards fascism. The newspaper showed sympathy for Nazism, and also translated excerpts from Adolf Hitler's book, "Mein Kampf", and published them in a series. The paper emphasized being pan-Arab national and non-Islamic, but was seen as more Islamic in contrast to other papers.

While most Arab newspapers were pro Fascism and Falastin in February 1932 elaborating on Hitler, in May 1933 justified Hitler's persecuting the Jews and wrote "Noble [sic] Hitler," as well as Al-Karmel in 1932. (The Mufti's bulletin al-Jamaa al-Arabiya's incited the public against the government, expressing its support for fascist Italy) Ibrahim al-Shanti, his ad Difaa was outrageously more aggressive in Nazi propaganda since 1933.
