Many fire problems in Pacific Northwest are due to municipalities being reluctant to do controlled burns. It may have something to do with how things are taxed. Firefighters in forest fire cases are paid by the state and federal budget, but controlled burns would need to be funded at the local level.
A retired forest fire fighter in Nova Scotia gathered up a group of his retired friends who volunteered to help manage some admin aspects of the fires around Halifax. The department turned his offer of help down about the same time as the premier was asking for assistance from the public.

No, someone on here a week or so ago said this is ridiculous and that it was lightning combined with swamp gas and smoldering trees.
The healthy living trees do not catch fire easily.
It is the dead underbrush and the dead trees which funnel the fires.
Removing the dead stuff is a very easy way to prevent forest fires.
Somewhere there was a satellite video showing a bunch of them across the provinces starting at the same time.
I was wondering about this, seemed very unusual to have so many fires, this early in the year, all at once. Why isn’t this more of the news story? Has anyone claimed responsibility?

September 2020, the entire west side state of Oregon was torched. Just coincidence that Antifa/BLM were camped in a park in southern Oregon. The night my home was burning, I spent the night on a parking lot of a grocery store about 40 miles north. About midnight several tall black men all dressed in black riding motorcycles showed up and went on the store.
They must have seen my pro American/Trump bumper stickers and started circling my car on their motorcycles.
One slapped the hood.
I got out of the house with 3 things. My purse, my cat and the third one I threw on the dashboard and screamed “ Let’s go!”
