Few things concern American citizens more than the steady encroachment of the federal government on our constitutionally protected liberty. WB Yeats’ words aptly describe the way millions of Americans feel about their own government: “The falcon cannot hear the falconer; things fall apart; the center cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world.” The federal government seems to have no mechanism of self-restraint. We feel suffocated by its excesses.
It is appropriate in this context to celebrate the passage of SCR 21, Senator Stewart Cathey’s Joint Concurrent Resolution. SCR 21, passed in both chambers this yesterday, affirms Louisiana’s sovereign constitutional right “to nullify unconstitutional acts of the federal government.” The Resolution rests on the foundational writings of the men who ratified the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, the guarantees made to the 13 free and independent States who formed our Constitution, and US Supreme Court precedent going back two centuries. ...

How many states have this? Hopefully a trend.
That can go both ways. Blue states can claim sovereign right to go full out collectivist. One might argue they are already underway.
“Louisiana Sovereignty Resolution”
was over ruled & declared null and void on April 9, 1865.
Proving once again that Might makes Right.
Sanctuary cities (and states) prove that cities and states can ignore federal laws in their territory and get away with it. So if you feel like it, do it. If you don’t, don’t. No need to send out this kind of Old South talk.
as long as you can run your state without federal money
"Louisiana Sovereignty Resolution"
The problem is that Louisiana lawmakers are seemingly clueless that misguided, constitutionally low-information Louisiana ordinary citizen voters are going to keep electing and reelecting crook federal senators who are going to make Louisiana's Sovereignty Resolution meaningless.
In other words, what Louisiana state government leaders actually need to do is this. They need to lead ALL the states to effectively "secede" from the unconstitutionally big federal government by repealing the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments (16&17A).
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
“If the tax be not proposed for the common defence, or general welfare, but for other objects, wholly extraneous, (as for instance, for propagating Mahometanism among the Turks, or giving aids and subsidies to a foreign nation, to build palaces for its kings, or erect monuments to its heroes,) it would be wholly indefensible upon constitutional principles [emphases added].” — Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2 (1833).
”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
Pelosi: "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it." (non-FR; 6 sec.)
“Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves [emphasis added]. It seems to be the law of our general nature.” - Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Edward Carrington January 16, 1787)
Democrats Are Terrified Of An Educated And Informed Public (3.12.23)
While patriots are waiting for clueless state lawmakers to repeal 16&17A, the next step is for Democratic and Republican patriots to primary as many of our beloved state and federal lawmakers and executives as we can in 2024.
After all, lawmakers and executives are continually demonstrating that that do not have the patriotism and leadership skills necessary to find legislative support for effective remedies for unconstitutional government policies.
Trump can endorse candidates that Constitution-savvy patriots recommend as long as candidates are not incumbents, candidates also promising to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments after they win office.
The definition of insanity is reelecting your beloved career state and federal lawmakers and executives over and over again, expecting those same lawmakers to find remedies for unconstitutional government policies every time.
A nation is a people, not a land mass. The American Nation is those people who still embrace the Ideals of freedom, justice and rule of law. Those people deserve a place to call home. The solution is moving to the remnants of the US that still hold to these ideals and separating from the Marxists…. Forever.
The King George tyranny was over ruled and declared null and void on July 4, 1776.
Proving once again that might is crushed by right.
Louisiana and her neighbors in congress formally declared war on the United States, May 6, 1861, proving for all time that slavery makes slavers stupid.
