If farmers and ranchers don’t produce enough food, we don’t eat. So we should always be very thankful for our hard working farmers and ranchers. Unfortunately, farms and ranches all over the United States have been hit by a string of disasters in recent months, and as a result food production has taken a turn for the worse. So does that mean that we should expect that there will soon be shortages of certain items? Unfortunately, it appears that is likely to be the case. For example, it is being reported that approximately 90 percent of Georgia’s peach crop for this year has been destroyed…
Summer is around the corner, and in Georgia, summer means peaches.
But horticulturists at the University of Georgia say roughly 90% of the Peach State’s crop has been destroyed by bad weather and a warming climate.
The last time things were this bad was 1955, according to Lawton Pearson of Pearson Farm in Fort Valley, Georgia.
I really love a good peach.
But if you want to sink your teeth into some fresh peaches in the months ahead, they won’t be coming from Georgia…

I’ll believe it when Biden and the Democrats start talking about “the food supply system” again.
Peaches aren’t exclusive to Georgia but this will probably make prices go up up up.
</b>Damn</b>, certainly no WEF/NWO Soros, Schwab, Bush, Dutch government, FidelitoTrudeau, causation is there ?

Well, there is. Climate Change is the root of all evil.
> The last time things were this bad was 1955 … <
Wait. So there was a Climate Change problem back in 1955. Then there wasn’t. And now there is again. Pretty darn confusing, if you ask me.
I was thinking something similar a couple of days ago.
The "anthropomorphic global warming" people have to explain every other period of unusually warm weather in history, going back tens of thousands of years... explain how it was not caused by SUVs and electricity generating plants.
Or at least they would have to explain these phenomena, if we had anything like a fair debate on the subject.
Until we stop burning grain in the cars, I do not believe any of “we will be hungry” bullshit!
Biden first day decision to blunt natural gas production, caused an increase in fertilizer costs plus increases in the cost of generating electricity.
The liberals’ war against meat, has discouraged some alfalfa production.
Without fertilizer produced from natural gas, and without nutrients in some fields - provided from alfalfa crops, there are noticeable acres that remain unused this year. In contrast to the summer of 2021.
I just got back from the store. 4.99 lb for peaches.
I used to buy t-bone steak for that much. $4.59 sometimes.
Georgia isn’t really that big of a peach state. SC does more, I think some others.
And to Hades with the Climate Change alarmists. Climate change is a constant, always has been. We’re still coming out of the mini ice age.
If Global Warming is actually happening, they can replace those peach trees with citrus trees. Problem solved.
Sheesh...they have no shame: “[peach crop] destroyed by a warming climate. The last time things were this bad was 1955.”
LOL...so what happened in 1955?
This last winter set in early while leaves were on the trees and left late this spring. Landscaping plants are dead and dying all over the place, even though it wasn’t bitter cold. People have lost junipers, roses, blackberries, and many more plants.
Can we blame this on climate change?
And my guess is the bad weather is cold, not heat.
Warming climate ruins warm weather crops? Who knew?
Good peaches from Georgia havent come up here for 50 years so...
I call BS. Peaches are a warm weather crop, and warmer weather means a longer growing season.
They arent but theirs are famous for a reason. Are you suggesting that anyone should eat those repulsive white mealy dry shattered stone abominations that come from California or something? Piss on that. If I want to waste money Ill drive through the ghetto and fling coins at kids.
Bkmk
The last I heard, many fruit crops were destroyed by cold weather.
